No doubt about that, and I am not that good with a camera.
When I go to Alaska I always carry a side arm and a camera, so far I have only had to shoot the camera and I prefer it that way.

Beginners luck. I went shooting with a buddy once. He had a 357 smith and weson. He asked if I wanted to shoot it. Sure but at what I said. There was a pop bottle cap about 20' away. I hit it the first shot. He said I bet you can't do that again pointing to another cap about the same distance. I just missed it. about 1 inch below it. Went again a couple of weeks later. I couldn't get that close all day.
