NEED ADVICE

thunder, not to drag this out, but you forgot to answer/comment on this following fairly important points, which are the crux of this quasi debate:

1. Since your a businessman, the important thing for a bike with miles at THIS time of YEAR is for him/her get it off the floor.

would you agree or not?

2. He's lucky to get 200 over invoice, given you can pick up with with 0 miles for about that right now.

would you agree or not?

3. The 500 miles stinks also-- in your twenty years have you let a customer take a 11k hyper sport bike w/ 0 miles for the weekend to try out? I think not.

would you agree or not?

I don't give a hoot about putting money in some dealer's hands. In this deal, the buyer has all the leverage--plain and simple.

1) I know dealers who will sit on 3 Year old inventory. So the imperitive to move the unit would be up to that particular deler at that particular time. This must not be that big of a deal to most of them as has been evidenced by the numerous purchaces of 03 models on this board in the last couple of months. If I was the dealer Yes I would want It gone. As I stated earlier It anit that great of a deal on a cash out the door price but is a fair one with the trade.

2) Answered in (1)

3) No one really knows what the story is the bike could have been the dealers demo that he let his buddy ride with the intention of buying. poop happens. I know if I wanted to have riden mine for a couple of days prior to purchace there would have been no problem. Its 200 miles from the dealership to home for me so if I would have riden it home and back there would be 400 on it. No one knows for sure that it had 0 miles on it. We would let customers take 18k H-D demos out for the week end or for a few days.

1. we agree. The dealer may not be all that motivated for whatever reason.

3. things must be different here in the NE. 99.999% of the dealers wont let you take it for a spin 1/2 mile down the road, let along for a day or weekend. Harley, will tell you to go rent one if you need to demo and come back--here anyway.

Well here is the deal... after further review I have decided to do this...

SNAKE...

Thanx for the advice man I really appreciate it.  But to help you out a little I am not in FL yet I am in NY where I am from, still. (sorry should have told ya)  Now that I have decide on what to do, I will go to FL.

I am going to just go ahead and get the black and purple.  After gazing at the picture of the one at suzukicycles.com for 3 hours straight I have decided to just to make it easier on myself and go ten miles away and get the black and purple, then go to Elmira to get the "shady" blue and silver.  I dont know but I think its just the satisfaction of knowing I was the only MA A FALA (mah ah fah lah) that has riden my bike.  Besides the b and p has really grown on me.

I am located in Syracuse NY ( right now ) and they sell the busa for $10,9oo, so I figured I would go for
$10,400.  I am going to have to trade in because I have no time to sell it consumer to consumer.

So now that I everything is ready to go I just have to check with this other dealer to see what he'll give me on a trade in.  I allready have mods and gear figured out (sort of) here they are:

1st matching shoei busa helmet or the one linked below

http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/32-X11-1

2nd busa matching leather jacket b and p suzukicycles.com accessories or joe rocket speedmaster jacket

3rd joe rocket speedmaster pants

4th SiDi Vertebra II boots

5th GX-1 sport gloves suzukicycles.com

6th busa tank cover with carbon fiber at suzukicycles.com

7th the no drill sliders that the guy on this site was talking about

8th yoshimura trs tri oval full exhaust with carbon fiber slip on

9th gel seat custom cover

Snake that thing that will help the bike shift smoother sounds good too but I have no idea what they were talking about.

you guys and your whole "fastest colors thing" cracks me up

also i am trying to find a good undertail kit and little mods that stop the speed regulator and make the bike run smoother. you know like mod must haves.

what "shift smoother" thing are you referencing?

The busa will smoothen up as the miles role by. Mine is noticably smoother @ around 1k miles. I'll go full synth next change to make her smother. I've no complaints overall tho and wouldn't worry bout it. Once in a while I get jammed in the false nuetral tho.

ahh Syracuse-- I worked as a Naturalist one winter there while in college at Beaver Lake Nature Center (Baldwinsville). Too much snow for my blood!

bullet train said "A power commander with a good map does wonders for the busa's shiftin' " so a power commander...whatever that is...

holy sh!t i havent been to beaver lake since grade school... I forgot all about the place. yeah the winters do suck here thats why i am going back to florida where I was stationed at when i was military

you'll need a powercommander when you get a new set of full pipes. Stock, not needed and won't do squat. Ya, I terrorized all the youngins coming in from Syracuse for their school tours
