Need help please!

Thanks every1.

61.5k ohms upright or horizontal

Voltage is .095 upright or horizontal so I checked each wire individually off the battery and both of them only get voltage when I touch positive side so its like they are both grounded or just not getting voltage at all.

I love doing electrical work thats alot of what I do at work and all the hard diagnostic work that other shops cant figure out but I'm a car guy not a bike guy lol

I know this is a pain for you but thanks alot bluehaya you are the man!

:poke:bike will run with no gauges .... kill switch, tip over sensor, key switch, kickstand switch, clutch lever switch..all need to be working....if you whent down on the left id think kickstand switch

tip over sensor is behind the gas tank almost up under the front seat....

I just wanted to get a cluster to monitor coolant temp oil temp and all that. I didn't know it would run without them though I figured the gauges would have to be hooked up cause on most cars they require that for the oil switch or it will show no oil pressure and shut off the fuel.. Learn something new everyday though. Thanks. Well he was in the left lane and I was in the right and he turned right in front of me to catch a road just ahead to the right and the front and left side took the impact cause he was at a angle when he turned in front of me and then it tipped over to the right and skidded on the right side..

Under the nose there is a unused 12v (2 connector) for the euro models...somebody please correct me if I have stated it wrong...that might be what you have found.

Elec issues are a pain

you are correct...it is on the right side front

I can teven find that plug on teh wiring diagram. I have a smithabusa assec. wire plugged into mine

is there like a flow chart or step by step procedure in that book bluehaya?? If so does it say to check if the voltages are not correct?

This thing is getting on my nerves. I checked the black/tan wire and for a second it showed a short to ground then I checked it again and it didn't. errrr.. But when it wasn't showing a short to ground it still wouldn't do anything.. I jumped the starter and the motor isnt locked up but starter still wont say nothing with the key and switch..

Sorry for your get off, and glad you seemed to recover. As to your problem, your description rang a bell. I dug through the manual and I think it points to the kill switch or the wiring to the water temperature meter is bad. Read at the end of page 7-33 of the service manual.

If you need to download the service manual, here is the link to the thread where you will find download links - courtesy of NICKSLICK.

Welcome to the board. :welcome: :welcome: Sorry about your crash.

The clutch has to be pulled in to crank the starter. Make sure the bike is in neutral so you don't need to worry about the kickstand switch right now. With the kill switch in the run position, the clutch lever depressing the clutch switch, the tip-over sensor upright, and the starter button depressed, the starter relay will complete the circuit to the starter. I don't think I missed anything there, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Good luck and keep us posted on progress.

Welcome to the board! :welcome: Glad to hear you are recovering ok from your crash. You came to the right place looking for answers about your bike. If you can't find what you need here then the answers just don't exist. :beerchug:

Just so you know, after you get your problem fixed and have a little time for us, you have to post up some pics of your Busa. Those are the :rulez:

:cheerleader:

Its in neutral but the indicator light isnt on, on the cluster. I done all the rest but it still has no starter-wont even spin, fuel-pump wont prime or run, or spark-power commander lights wont come on.. Guess I'm going to have to get a wiring diagram and start tracing wires..

I never have luck posting pics this insert image thing dont work for me lol. Plus nothing special I just have all the bodywork off now.

The PC won't light up until you have spark. It gets it's power from the injectors. That isn't going to be on unless the bike is willing to start.

It sounds like one of the safety switches is not working. Did the clutch lever get bashed? The clutch switch may have gotten damaged. You can remove the plug from it and short it to see if that's the problem. The clutch switch should be closed when the kickstand is up if I recall. If those two switches, the tip-over sensor, and the fuses are all good you should have 12VDC at the kill switch when you turn the key on. Rocking the switch on and off will move the temp gauge.

mitrls10,

You seem to be overlooking a big red flag I mentioned above - temp gauge goes to "H" mark. This may lead you straight to the problem.

Thanks everyone for the help, I got it fixed today. I got a service manual from my local shop today and actually worked on the bike in the daylight, and was tracing through wiring diagrams and noticed the turn signal relay was missing. Looked further at the wiring diagram and part of the kickstand switch wiring went through it. It also completed the circuit to the kill and starter switch as well and thats why starter, fuel, and pc wasn't working. I put a relay in and everything on the cluster started working like it was supposed to, fuel pump come on, starter worked, neutral light come on, temp gauge worked, chec light went off, but it still wouldn't crank and was backfiring so after bout a minute of cranking it I thought to unplug my ignition kill box for the airshifter and it fired up shortly after unplugging that.. Let it run until operating temp and it runs normal temp, fan comes, on eng has a little miss but through the sight glass has some water residue in the oil (probably from sitting cause no coolant has ever been added and it hasn't gotten any lower) so I'mma change the oil tomorrow and get all the bodywork that shattered and parts that broke or got skidded up I need and fix the cracked, and holes in the bodywork thats still repairable and paint it and I will post some pics up.. Thanks again..
