In the wake of the Pandemic nearly all of the 2020 Motorcycle related events including shows have been cancelled or postponed indefinitely. Here are a few Items I have come across in the last few days that piqued my interest.
First is the long awaited Honda CBR1000RR-R SP (aka the "Fireblade" to the rest of the world). I just read that the US spec version of this thing that has been dangled for some time now will make a lowly 188hp in US (NHTSA) trim. That sounds good and all compared to the Japanese competition, but in European spec it is advertised to produce 214HP! For comparison the current BMW S1000RR makes 205hp in NHTSA spec. This is a nearly $30K bike and Honda has lopped 30HP right off the top, I suspect a lot of people who put down deposits on this thing for a June Delivery will be rethinking it and not just because of the Virus!
