Seemed as good a place as any to post new Bike stuff.

Ducati just dropped the new 2025 Panigale V4 today with a Euro5+ compliant 216hp from the factory or 228hp with the race Exhaust. Looks like it ought to rip!

Whew......$39K here in Canada before all the taxes, PDF, freight and all the other costs....be well over $40k.....it had better be a stellar bike.

What's the retail on a new Busa up there now? This duc might be a value proposition compared to getting a Hayabusa to 228hp. :)

Yeah, but the Ducati would be better compared to a 1k, in terms of physical, size and weight, even thought it has alot more power than them all.
A friend has a 2019 first gen V4 Panigale, which he added Akropvic exhaust, tune , cf wheels, and a few other small parts.
That thing is Loud, and was even with the stock exhaust, and not suprisingly, it sounds like 2 V-twin Ducatis coming, and from a good quarter mile away.
He suprisingly didn't have any major issues with it either, and at around 36k miles, it's on consignment at the dealer.
He said he's tempted to get the new one...or just bring it back home, lol.
He also has a '23 BMW SR1000RR as well, and I would take that any day over the Ducati.
As it has factory cruise control, adjustable footpegs, and alot of great design features, the bar position isn't as aggressive either.
Inline 4 vs V4, apples to oranges, but the BMW just feels alot more refined.
That first genV4 also can't pull away from the slightly modded '18 Gsxr1k either, and I even though we didn't do any strict racing, I really don't think that V4 had anything for the Gsxr...seriously.
The new V4, I would like to think it's a better version, but at over double the cost of a new Gsxr, I can only see the Ducati edge it out at best.
If you ever saw Zack and Ari on youtube with their beater '05 Gsxr1k put the smackdown on the first genV4...as great as the '05-'06 Gsxr1k is, a piped, tuned '17-'24 Gsxr1k will chew it up and spit it out...it's not even close.
I can't see any Ducati live nearly as long as a Gsxr1k engine either.
Build a 1441 NA Gen2 Busa, or 1340 low boost turbo or sc, still for less than the new Ducati, and the V4 has no chance.
I'de love to know how much Ducati makes as pure profit on one of those, not to mention maintenance costs.
Vs, change the oil in the Gsxr1k or Busa, and that's about it.

Ducati has the advantage of Moto GP R&D over a lot of other brands as well......

I just looked up the new price on the Ducati here in Canada and it's $54K for the 240 hp model...and $46K for the "regular" SP2 (228 hp).

And they are fast......but how long does a person really want to sit in the saddle? You have to be young to ride those bikes........that's why there are so many "seasoned riders" on this forum riding Hayabusas.

A 2024 Gen 3 is around $26K

I'd imagine the insurance premium on the Ducati alone would make it not worth the extra power or money....

Agreed
Even me with my dirt bike barred Gsx1k would be comfortable on the BMW S1RR...but not hardly on the Ducati.
I know it's a race bike for the street, but I would think at some point, you would at least think, hey, track guys that street ride these things like to ride for more than a 20 minute race...maybe we should make the seat just a little more comfortable...said no Ducati engineer ever...or Suzuki for that matter, lol.
BMW's however isn't bad, and still just looks like a typical 1k seat.
And I'm not a BMW fanboy either, but have to give credit for such a well built machine.
But, once again, a bargain basement price, bolt-on Suzuki can still hurt some feelings, and at a fraction of the price.
Still, I don't think anyone buying the Ducati is worried about cost, or comfort.
Just us armchair quarterbacks giving it a hard time, lol
