Thanks.  I think I am really going to like this camera.

You will love it. I have the XTi as well. The other day I scored a real sweet deal on a 75-300 telephoto lens with image stabilization. This lens rocks. For a few test shots I took pics of moving cars from a moving car.Half a block away and you can read the licence plate clearly.

Go for a couple lens Jim with IS,you wont regret it.

The body and a nice standard lens 18/65 was 1000.oo new.

Thats CDN. So thats about 29 bucks US.

Kiddin' prolly 8-900 US.

Sweet rig...endless features, it wont dissapoint.

It's funny you post this...cuz I'm looking at the SAME camera!  I have an old 35mm Rebel Xs with 2 or 3 lenses - I would like to go digital and re-use the lenses, so I've been looking at the XT, XTi, or a used 20D.

depending on what model you have your old lens may not work with the new one. That happened to a guy I work with but in my case the all work. the lens have to have 7 contacts on them (5 small 1 big one and then 1 more small)

that good to hear. I do have a 75-300 but it's not IS. I do want to get a larger lens so maybe I'll go that way then.
