and don't think I wasn't looking at the 600mm but that one I had a hard time with.

I got the same one, and other than it being a "little" large and heavy; wow, what pictures you get with it.

I almost thought your airplane pictures were my own...LOL

If you want another super "L" lens try the 24-105 IS f4.0L. It is quite an impressive one also. I use it a LOT.

yeah it's a little large but I can live with that. It will be nice to get a chance to really get out and play.

I have the same zoom for my D60.

You should also check out the Tamaron Pro lenses. They make several of the L lenses for Canon, but cost a few hundred less for the same lens.

I also have a Tamaron 14mm Super-Wide SP lens. It's the same as the Canon 14mm, but with gold trim instead of red.

Nice camera!
I have a Minolta Maxum with auto everything with a bunch of lenses. That camera could take some pictures. Still does, but it's like using a chisel and tablet these days...it just doesn't get used.

Dear Jim

That is a very nice lens! You're going to love it!

I have the 400mm 5.6L and 70-200 2.8L IS. The 70-200 is my favorite lens for portraits, but I use the 17-40 4.0L for most of our vacation shots.

That 600mm lens y'all keep referring to costs around US$7200 new. That's more than half a 'Busa!

Hey as long as we are on lens here, I have a 70-210 Vivitar that fits an OLD Minolta SRT-101 film camera. If anyone wants it, they can have for the shipping, since it will not fit my Canon cameras I use now. It is the glass elements and takes VERY good pictures.

Thanks I had the 35mm EOS and stopped using it because of the digital age. When I finally broke down and bought the new EOS I don't know what took me so long. I should have bought it years ago.

Thanks. Yeah $7200 is just a little much for just one lens.
