These guns could pop-up,shoot,then drop back down to stay outa harms way and re-load.

You get a birds eye view from up on the hill where the guns are,easy pickens for the gunners to pop anything trying to get in the harbour...

They used searchlights right down on the water aswell...
They painted them up to look like different things.This one...a boat house.It looks like wood but is heavy steel.
