Thanks for the picture. I downloaded the service manual that was linked on here and it did say 5mm above the top clamp. I set the forks to that and raised the rear back up to stock, all new brake fluid, clutch fluid, anti freeze, oil and filter, cleaned and lubed the chain and had new seals put in the forks. I think I got a problem though, I didn't specify what weight oil I wanted put in the forks. They put in 10w, seems incredibly stiff. I am going to goof with compression and rebound damping to see if I can deal with it. I sure as hell don't want to tear the front end apart again to drain and refill the fork oil. Any way, live and learn.

Most fork oil is 7.5 or 10w. If you’re in a very cold weather spot the lighter oil may be better. I think I used 15w in my old CBXs which helped the handling quite a bit but those forks were tiny and prehistoric!
