New toy for the stable. finally a way

Very cool...if I could go back and start over as a kid I would want you as my pop...the only bike my father ever bought me was a used honda QA50 somewhere around 1972...man, now I really feel ripped off..heheheh...

I was brought up the same way. I use to think it unfair but realized over time my folks offered me the best they could and if they had the opportunity maybe they would have given me things like this too. I feel fortunate to be able to provide my family the tools (toys) to become closer. We all enjoy riding together and so long as my son is a productive member of the family and society I thinks he deserves whatever I can provide. I think spending time with your kids is the greatest gift of all and this is a small investment to share more time together.
Amen brother

Just an update on Gixxer-kids new ride. Picked it up on Wendsday and he rode home following us (~35 miles). Temperature was about 40 deg F and there were snow flakes (Welcome to New England). When we got home he said it rides incredible. I think I told him at every stop that the tires are slick as Sh!t and then reminded him the tires are slick as sh!t. He loves it. The next day he woke up and the temp was ~29 deg F and rode the Bike to school (~15 mile ride). I think he is as obsesed as I am. He didn't ride on Friday (Temp was 26 deg F). I think the adrenaline rush wore off by Friday. He and Mom went out for a short ride Friday afternoon (temp 43 deg F). I can't wait for the shoulder to heal to join them. At least when I am healed the weather will be warmer. I think at this point I have drummed into his head that the tires are slick and not because of mold release (100+ miles on bike now) but becasue it is so damn cold out. I must have reminded him 100 times that the road is cold the tires are cold and suspension is cold = no adhesion to road. I think he gets it.

If the arms healed up by April 8th, Come on down to Harrisonburg, VA for the spring ride. It'd be cool to get more people down here.

Also, I wish I had a dad as cool as you are... buying your kid a bike is friggin awesome.

Best line in the whole post. I am now 28 and my dad in his 50's. He used to ride but can't anymore due to health problems. We never got to ride together. To this day I wish he and I could just go one one nice countryside ride together. Oh well. Good on ya. You son will love it. Safe Riding.
