Sorry....you just seem so passionate, I couldn't resist. :laugh:

Really miss my GMC Sierra (same as a Silverado). Best vehicle I've ever owned. Sorry I sold it.

I'm sure that Toyota is a great truck, but if I were to get another pickup, it would be American.

With the announcements of Chrysler and Chevy Dealerships closings, and possibly more later, I'd be afraid the the dealer I bought my truck from today might not be there to help me tomorrow. As for me, I've owned an 01-360, 03-Hemi, 05-Hemi Quad Ram, all 3 4x4. I never had any problems with one of them, though I only put about 36,000 on each.

I'm now driving an 08 5.7 Tundra Quad Limited and I absolutely love the truck. The power is impressive next to the Hemi, and the truck is refined. Plus, with Toyota you can buy a truck with the options you want for less than what Dodge wants for an optioned Ram.

if i was thinking of a new truck i would keep in mind who is the strongest in todays time. ford is the strongest in these economic times. Ford used to be one of the big 3. but now there is only one big and thats Ford now.

Good timing on this thread!

We've been looking for a truck for a little while now and after listening to all the "buy a real truck, buy American" we figured we'd check out the Tundra's.

Well, to make a long story short we settled on an '09 SR5 Toyota Tundra 5.7 CrewMax. For 'what we're looking for' in a truck the 5.7 CrewMax Tundra trumped all the others.

Stock photo but this is the unit we chose;

Chances are you're not going to find your answer here. Everyone has their own oppinion of each, based on their own experience with them, or just what someone they know has said. Cars (or trucks) are like anything else. Just cause one person has bad experience with one vehicle doesn't mean that all the trucks from that company are that way. As far as I'm concerned (from personal experience) chevy will out perform any of the others you've mentioned. But as I said, we all have our oppinions. You obviously like the Toyota, so if that's what you like, go with it. But if you want my personal recomendation, go with the Chevy.

Ford or Toyota

With so many of the GM and Dodge dealerships closing and of course the good ole gubment having a hand in their dealings I would shy away from those two.

I went with the Tundra. I think that is going to be my next truck. I don't know what size, but I have a 06 Chevy 1500 and I have had a lot of small problems that cost me like 2 or 3 hundred each time, all was after the warranty was up. I'm sorry, if you buy a new truck you shouldn't be having lights and stuff in the dash going out around 50 60 thosand miles. It wasn't just a bulb eather. Maybe I got a lemon. Lets just say not happy with the truck.

I haven't seen any real deals on any trucks but maybe that's just in my area. All the dealers tucked away almost all of their trucks as soon as the gas prices went through the roof and they've never come back to the dealers.

Personaly I would go Toyota just because the actual line workers for both chevy and ford say you should only buy one of their trucks if it was built on a Wednesday or Thrusday. The trucks built Mon or Fri don't have the same wuality level.... that's a shame ???

I have had several GM trucks, but my last three were Ford F-150s, and I'll get another when the lease is up on the 07 next July. Have not had one issue with any of them.:thumbsup:

The new ford 150 is SWEET. All new. Drive before you decide. I will BUY AMERICAN when I can. No GM, Government Motors or Fiat Chrysler in this house. We are not participating in the Fascist takeover of American companies. But, its not my money either ! :poke:

I had a quadrasteer denali an it was the ultimate truck..... A full size pickup with the turning radius of a Honda civic. If I ever get my hands on another I won't let go. :down:
