Nice win last night

Id suspect that anyone running a BMW will need a min of 220hp to even come close to it...maybe even more HP due to the weight advantage. Those bikes are sub 400 lbs wet and make an honest 190-200hp without going into the engine at the wheel.

Gen II can so the 3 step to get close to that...

Thinner Head gasket to acheive the posted 12.5/1 compression ratio
Swap the single cam and degree them in
Change valves/Springs with only clean up work done on ports

I've seen most average around 211-217hp at the wheel

How much $$$ we talking for something like this?

Believe gasket is around $60
Cam is $500ish
Cam sprockets $200
Springs/Valves used $200-$300

If thats the case, thats not to bad. About $1100 to have that much power is worth it. I might be looking into this a lil more for next years mods

But why? You'd trade longevity and reliability for a few more horses just so YOU'll know you're making more power than the new litre bikes? I mean, nobody else will know and unless you race you'll never use anything close to all of it anyway. And next year the litre bikes will be even more powerful. Seems daft to me.

I own both a 08 Busa and an 08 gsxr 1000. I feel like my 1k is faster. Granted its stretched +10 and geared -2/+3. Well from 0-159 since it tops out lol. Up top the Busa does pull hard.

Reviews ? Don't read only what the reviews say.put equal weight riders on both bikes same wheelbase & a gen 2 will win in a standing 1/4 mile.can't hide torque.if u wanna come 2 muncie dragway on June 10th I'd b more than happy 2 show u proof

:rofl::rofl:That's exactly what I thought you'd say. No doubt you'll be saying the same thing in 5 years when it'll be even less true than it is now. You're right...you can't hide torque. Or power. Or weight.

Let it go!

Busa's are a nasty beast. Nasty beast that.. like so many have said are able to riden for hundreds or even iron butt rides like its cake. Sexy styling, monster TQ and performance capabilities that are something to put in the record books. Why do the lighter ltr bikes make more power now? Following the jet streams of the Hayabusa for a starter. I moved from sport bikes to this.. By far my FAVORITE bike. I went into the local Kawi shop.. tried to talk me into a 14 or the new 10. Nah... looked at it.. sat on it.. didn't even drool once. First set eyes on my '08 Phantom honey bunches of sexy curves?? Needless to say.. i like to sleep in the garage.
