Not a Busa !

I had it's much older brother an '89 FZR1K.....was always a Suzuki man so when the opportunity arose to sell it off....away it went..

It was a remarkably good bike though....

I really like this generation FZR, Fireblade or ZXR 750 STINGER H1.

The Gen3 is my first Suzuki ever ! Before that many Honda, Yamaha, some BMW and one Ducati. The R1 is for nostalgia and the Busa for the torque, confort and modern equipments : love it

New paint job, swing arm, shock, exhaust, pipes, chain, sprockets, clutch, lines, cables, tires, lights, handle grips, bar ends, levers, bolts, nuts, bearings, fluids, filters... the list is way too long but you got the idea :D

You have to be very proud of this bike.....it's a beauty, my favorite model of R1.
I am, I am very proud ! Happy about the result after so many nights in the garage (my favorite spot to be honest).
Sometime I go there just to look at it, and then I come back in the house lol.
More than the beauty that we agree on, the ride feeling is very cool too. Zero assistance on a light bike

Wow, that takes me back.
I remember riding my friend's
1999 R1 (I'm 46)
I'm doing similiar with my 2003 Gsxr1000 right now.
I still love the late 90's/early 2k's bikes, and seeing them brought back...and that one looks great.

You're absolutely right. That's how iconic bikes work. I love my Gen3: its torque, its precision. But you can't replace the feel and smell of the carburetor after a ride. Youngtimers are somehow imperfect, you have to adapt to the bike, no TC to help you through all the corners.
What's a carburetor?

The GSXR... the one who knocked out the R1 at the time !
I'm curious to see pictures of yours.

Mine is getting more of a resto-mod, all maitenance with a few mods.

Your bike looks great. Since you have an original R1, and you are in France, I feel posting this old classic 'Fast Bikes' video is appropriate.

Six minutes into the video, and I'm already too overloaded. Gonna finish it later. That intro was already too much, ha-ha. Thanks for posting such a gem! :D

A neighbor had an R6 in this year and paint color...he had a Hindle Ti system on it and low kms...

He decided to sell it and it sat on the market for a long, long time....the older guys didn't want a 600 and the young guys couldn't afford the insurance.....he finally traded it on a boat......

II was going to get it for my older son but at that time the insurance was over $5k a year and he had a clean license......crazy....
