I am, I am very proud ! Happy about the result after so many nights in the garage (my favorite spot to be honest). You have to be very proud of this bike.....it's a beauty, my favorite model of R1.
The GSXR... the one who knocked out the R1 at the time !Wow, that takes me back.
I remember riding my friend's
1999 R1 (I'm 46)
I'm doing similiar with my 2003 Gsxr1000 right now.
I still love the late 90's/early 2k's bikes, and seeing them brought back...and that one looks great.
What's a carburetor? You're absolutely right. That's how iconic bikes work. I love my Gen3: its torque, its precision. But you can't replace the feel and smell of the carburetor after a ride. Youngtimers are somehow imperfect, you have to adapt to the bike, no TC to help you through all the corners.

I'm curious to see pictures of yours.
She came out gorgeous. I'm so (good) jelly!3 months later...

Six minutes into the video, and I'm already too overloaded. Gonna finish it later. That intro was already too much, ha-ha. Thanks for posting such a gem!Your bike looks great. Since you have an original R1, and you are in France, I feel posting this old classic 'Fast Bikes' video is appropriate.
The white and red are also gorgeous, and perhaps more iconic than the blue due to the marketing campaigns when it was released.Love the earlier gens of the R1.
