Not a happy customer of BCP

Well more surprises today. Sadly motor won’t be coming out this weekend. I need make something to loosen the engine mounts. The turbo kit Rob built has the turbo rubbing on the engine case. And he had to install 2 exhaust gaskets to push the turbo out so it would clear. I did notice one intake valve has oil deposits on it and the other ones are clean. Here’s some pics. 4 out of the 8 turbo manifold bolts were loose. Bike did have a exhaust leak which could explain some of the problems I was having. I’m seriously considering parting the bike out and just going na with it.

that is one OEM gasket . They are very thick from factory

5.65 mm or 0.235 "

As of right now I need to decide what I want to do. Rebuild and continue or scrap the whole turbo set up and go back to na. If I stay turbo I’m going to go big bore and higher compression. The cylinder has a good amount of aluminum in the exhaust port. So I might just find a shop that can do some hand porting to just to clean the head up and get a little more flow. Then did dual intake cams. Degree them so I can spin this thing a little higher. As I was limited to 10800 rpm’s and the power band was too short. With the set up I want to build it should make more power down low and turbo will spool much faster. Big should also make more peak power. I would like to be able to rev it out to 11800. So my 1st gear will be longer and when you go wot it will actually move.

So on the positive side, you need 1 piston, new bottom case, some head cleanup and little odds and ends. I bet if you put 5 bucks away a week (maybe a little more) by the spring time you could buy all the things you need and do it yourself. Rods are good, not too bad overall. And I say that full well knowing the sting from blowing up a brand new engine. (although mine was less $).

The cylinder needs to be redone. The piston melted the wall of the cylinder. The head needs to be machined and welded and a valve job. Probably 4 new valves. That’s going to be about $1000 bucks. I don’t think you can buy just one piston. Bike is also getting retuned on c16 like I also wanted Rob to do. So hopefully this doesn’t happen again. If you look at the pics of the cylinder you can see the very deep pits in the cylinder head.

Hi. I would not go big bore to easy to blow head gaskets 10 to 1 Turbo pistons ARP studs. oiling mods I will rev mine to 13500.

Correct recipe for a cookie cutter build. This build will be much better for what I want to do.
Go high compression good fuel race bike send it hard!!
When I finally do a engine it's gonna get the same damn thing. Think out side the box and go fast AF. I'm gonna go m1 dry block when I finally do the engine I'm gonna force feed this bitch with all the boost too lol my stock head will flow, with enough air behind it lol

it melted a piston on 25ish pounds of boost and 9-1 slugs. It remains a COMPLETE mystery to me WHY this bike never was tuned with ANY sort of race fuel at all. His amazing customer told him that this bike would be raced and run HARD. its like BCP didnt listen or care about the customer at all.

That’s very true. I did tell Rob at Boosted cycle performance that this bike was going to get ran hard. With in 20 some pull on the street I had the bike on max boost hitting 200 mph and laying down decent 60-130 100-150 dragy times. Also I asked Rob to set up the Nlr clutch to be able to apply added psi from the air tank to give it more clamping force. He did not do that. I will be putting a lock up clutch in the bike to make sure I have no clutch slipping as I can smell clutch in the oil when I drained it. Which might be why the bike was not as fast as it should have been. But Rob put a new clutch pack in the bike and said it was all good to go and will hold whatever I throw at it. Rob knows a lot but when it comes to actually having the bike perform and run numbers he is clueless to set up a bike and know the right combo. He also told me to brake boost the bike which the bike felt lazy and looking at the data log you can see the bike is lean when doing that. Which ain’t good either. I asked him a lot of questions about stuff that he just wanted to ignore. I guess if you want something done right you do it your self. Can’t trust him to build a real number running bike. Just dyno queens built at robs shop. He talks a lot poop about boomstune. But you see boomstune bike out winning events and races. I never see or hear about robs bikes winning or performing at events. Probably cause they’re just like my bike sitting in the garage blown up

its unprofessional to setup a CUSTOMER bike at 450HP on PUMP GAS and relying on meth injection to save the motor. he performed an experiment on YOUR BIKE. Just like the experiments with x98 ethanol fuels and stock motors. If he wants to perform experiments he should use his own bikes to do it. Its good of you that you didnt keep this quiet, like sooooo many peiople do. I gave rob poop about that NLR boost assisted clutch way back when and i got called a hater for saying anything about a clutch that uses an air system,. NLR makes some amazing products... specifically that ams2000, but the clutch.... i wouldnt be interested. many people are believers in the NLR clutch though, and some get them to work well.
Ain't no way in hell I'd ever trust pump for anything over 6-7psi and for that it would be for 8th mile pulls only. Fuel is way to cheap to not run good stuff.

Cylinder is shipped and that’s going to cost $1600 to have them fix it, fit it with new pistons and cut the rings. The head is going to cost minimum $700. That’s to fix the damage and do some light porting clean up. Then I will get it retuned which will be roughly $1000 bucks. Hopefully I can find a cheap used rcc intercooler set up so I can ditch the meth. But the guy that’s going to tune the bike said c16 and methanol injection it will live forever. He did tune my last turbo busa and ram amazing and went 8.03 stock motor on just race gas. I will run it like this for a year then go max ecu and straighten methanol full track bike.

1600 to fix the cyl? what does a brand new Wossner cost?

I'd ditch the meth all together it's very scary to being reliant on something that can fail. Run c16 or c23 keep it mellow till you go m1.
It's not worth chasing HP on c16/c23 you can make enough power for 200mph trap after that go to the big boy fuel

I would like to ditch the meth and not rely on it. Just waiting to see if I can go intercooled. Got a long time before this thing gets tuned. A lot can change……

Don’t forget about Scott Davis. He has that hand welded ultra cooler. It would probably be the same price as a used billet one.
