Okay, now I\'m pissed!

Bahahahah! Geico was $1836/yr, no medical, $250 deductable, un/under-insured. What a friggin joke! And the guy was all like "Yeah, you're lookin' good, now this is for the entire year....how does $1836 sound?" Sound? Sounds like **** dude! 18 years riding experience and I get this offer? Again, bwahahahahahaha! Progressive was $651/yr with similar coverage. Looks like State Farm is the winner. Thanks guys!

If your car policy is not due yet, ask your State Farm agent if they will write your bike policy now, and when your car policy is up for renewal then move your car or cars to State Farm then. My agent did it this way last year, and now they have all my buisness....cars, motorcycle, home and life......

The exact same thing happened to me. The company I have insured my 3 cars and house for 25 years wouldn't touch my Busa.

Allstate and Progressive were too high. I ended up with State Farm. $310 USD a year.

Yeah maybe, but 6 years ago I had a suv totaled. I had ins with state farm for 12 years. After they paid the claim, they cancelled my policy. That was the first and only claim I had ever had with them. They said they would re-insure for 2200 a year. I was not drunk, I just slid off an icy road.

I'm from Seattle originally, and have State Farm here in San Diego, for the Busa. 38 years old, no tickets, full coverage, $372/yr. I have my pickup truck insured with them too.

Just for the sake of satisfaction (and for all of OUR satisfaction too), I'd urge you to dump Farmer's entirely. Do it by going into their office in person and telling them you are there to cancel your policy. Don't be talked out of it, and don't tell them who you are going with. Just tell them that since they don't insure sportbikes, you refuse to do business with them. End of story. Bye.

You should do it!

My Dairyland quote for ZX12R last month was over $1850.00 for seven months insurance. No accidents, no tickets. I threw it into the trash. I guess Dairyland wants to "milk" its customers.

Life is go for me! $204 a year full coverage for my Busa. $175 a year for The wife's 00 ZX6 about $30 a month. Farmers Ins. Michigan.

Another plug for Nationwide - $300/year full coverage $250 deductible on my 2000 YZF600R ('Busa still a dream for now). They also have my house and cars (including a '94 Camaro). Coverage on cars costs LESS than GEICO. Quotes from GEICO and Progressive for just the 600cc bike were $1200 plus - ridiculous for a 34 year old with a clear record!

KZZ1: WTH? I have Farmers Ins. here in WA and they won't touch the Busa, or any "crotch-rider" (dumbasses, hehe). Is this a corporate thing or a local thing?

Its a seaonal thing Farmers insured nijias in 85 when the 600 came out.and 6 months later they stopped something about 150% claim ratio in the first 4 months. The following model year 86 they insured them again and then stopped claimed same thing.
They will insure it agian when the need policies written and dump you when the cost is too high.Gotta lov insurance Co.

Thanks for all the great posts! State Farm looks promising. My bro has State Farm and he told me they were happy to insure his ZX-11 and ZX-9 when he had them, at pretty good rates too.

Must be a local thing? My insurance doesn't go by the type of bike it is but they go by the cc.. BTW, I am 38 yrs old no points yet. Maybe you can purchase out of state insurance?

GEICO SUCKS!

This company is known for buying local law enforcement agencies radar guns! They donate the radar guns to your local joe smokey so he can zap with it and you get to go to court to pay all your play $$...... which in the long run allows them to charge you more for insurance! This is no joke....I would never use geico for this reason.

Everything I have seen about Geico seems like they totally suck. I have heard good things about progressive, for low coverage levels, for bikes. At the very least, they seem to want to insure bikes.

Never beg an insurance company to cover you. If they act like they are doing you a favor by taking your money, Fuk 'em. Find a company that wants your business and go with them. Money talks...that goes for insurance premiums, just like anything else.
