On my way over to the convention center to welcome the 47th POTUS

Since this is the thread where Trump has been welcomed as the next American President.....

This is a fitting place for this video from Charlie Kirk on immigration...

Never mind that per the main methods of measuring a standard of living, GDP per capita and life expectancy, things are better right now than ever, and Kirk "blames" this on illegal immigration. He invokes the right of opening his mouth and letting crap fall out. The simple numbers are that the more people work and spend, the better.
If you think blips like Trump and Obama are going to change the standing of this nation after more than 2 centuries, you're kidding yourself.

Canada has the same issues as the US when it comes to our quality of life right now.....what younger person can afford or will be able to own a home or have any disposable income? The younger generations are really struggling, more so than previous generations-some of it could be self-inflicted though.

Take a look at the huge number of homeless camps set up all over the country....that's is not a sign of prosperity.

It can be said that many of these illegal immigrants are working or trying to be a part of society....it's the manner in which they have arrived into the country that is in question. There is a process and that process has to be respected and followed. Otherwise there might as well not be any immigration policies at all.....without such policies, a country would very quickly lose it's identity.

The U.S. has not lost it's identity.

Again, you must be writing about Canada. There are homeless, as there always has and will be; camps are just a modern way to manage it

Don't know about Canada, but here it's the same percentage as the 70's

Bada bing. Looking around to find someone (immigrants, opposite politics) to blame has become the way. Look to yourself first and the search might well be over.

Maybe.....

It hasn't lost it's identity............................................yet.

My sister and other relatives who live in the US paint a different picture......they said younger people are struggling...but I can really only speak on what I see in Canada and we have FAR more homeless encampments in the past few years. The last time the numbers were close to what they are now is the depression era.

I know here in Canada, the chances of the upcoming generation owning their own home is FAR less than the previous generation. .inflation, interest rates and sky-rocketing home prices are the causes....

If we look at illegal immigrants like this:

You bought a ticket to watch a sold out movie......however people snuck into the theater without paying and even though they are quiet and cause no issues and aren't caught until after the movie....you as a ticket holder weren't able to get in because they occupied seats....

In your way of thinking, this is perfectly fine........and by the rule of law....it's not.

There is a direct correlation between my movie theater analogy to someone sneaking into a country....

Each and every legal immigrant should be standing up and saying "deport all the illegals" because they did it the right way and didn't cheat the system. I can sympathize with people wanting a better life, I've been to lots of the hell-holes they came from.....but that doesn't negate the fact there are laws that need to be followed.

Homelessness in the US appears to have risen over the past few years:

Flawed example as that theatre does not represent the country. There are plenty of seats and opportunities. Covid definitely is still being felt in world economies and homeless statistics. I agree that laws need followed. Perhaps you don’t know the state of USCIS here. I agree that government agencies need assessments, some are superfluous , but USCIS needs major funds and personnel. The logjam is a huge part of the immigration problem. Just as the economy is not as bad as those who seem to root against it paint it to be, immigration can be addressed and helped immensely with attention. Give people a legal method and they will use it.

I'm not so sure it is a flawed example......someone who is illegally denying someone of a service is parallel to someone illegally occupying a residence (for one example) from a legal immigrant in need.....

I don't abide by illegal immigration....it's an illegal act and not fair to those who jump through the hoops to enter a country...

We here in Canada have our fair share who have egressed from the US.....

I believe the legal method is coming to the southern border in the form of a wall and barriers directing immigration flow to recognized points of entry.

I'm not blaming illegal immigrants for other people's failures, I'm just saying what they are doing is illegal........and it needs to be stopped.
That’s what I’ve been saying. Fix the system is the most efficient way to slow it down drastically. I’m not saying you in particular but that theater scenario is a common mindset. The opportunity should apply to everyone, and people should have a workable way to enter a country to have a chance at said opportunity.
That is my take.

I'll go one step further...

If it were me in charge, I'd investigate all the illegal immigrants and identify the ones that have been living a productive, crime free life and expedite their citizenship and keep them.

I'd only be deporting the ones that have committed crimes or are placing a burden on society.

I kind of get a chuckle over the way our prime minister is heckling Trump.......he doesn't realize that he's absolutely no match for Trump who will eat him alive....

One of the worst things our guy does is say one thing to Trump and then come home and bash him and the people of the US on our government funded msm......I wonder if he thinks this rhetoric he uses won't be seen.....? Trump watches TV and he sees this guy bad-mouthing him and his country....it can never go well doing that.

The hits keep coming for ya @Blanca BusaLess

This is what people don't get about Trump. He is the best at utilizing the media more than any other president or politician.

I can see the plaque now at his library. "I'd like to thank our largest donor for the help in building my legacy.

ABC News for their $15M donation!

Holy chyt what a flex!
