On my way over to the convention center to welcome the 47th POTUS

In the first paragraph of your link, Putin agrees to talk but rules out making any major territorial concessions. That's already been on the table but I'll take the agreeing to talk as a positive.
Look at that as a first offer to appear on the negotiation table.

At least something appears to be happening, compared to four years of nothing.

Actually 2 and a half years, as that's how long the war has been. Biden originally telephoned Putin to inform him that the U.S. was ready for diplomacy, but they and their allies would stand by Ukraine if that failed. The gauntlet was thrown and Putin has persisted. I've said more than once that I don't agree with using the long range missiles into Russia but regardless, Putin was formally warned. That's a tad more than nothing. Trump and Putin obviously have some sort or relationship so maybe there's hope.

A 1.7 percent popular vote victory. Yeah. A real landslide. Dream on. Doesn’t matter. A win is a win and only certain people seem to be able to admit that. This is the real map, not the one that implies that squirrels and open plains voted Republican.
Accept victory graciously.

How many states and counties flipped from blue to red?
How many seats did the republicans pick up in each house as compared to the democrats?
When you get into it and how far reaching and deep this victory was than you see YES it was a total rejection of all things lefty. All analysts are saying we've not seen such a resounding victory in almost forty years.

Keep denying it.
But anyway yeah fine it's not a landslide. As long as we don't have to hear her cackle anymore I'm sooooper happy!

In fact I feel UNBURDENED.....

I haven’t and will not deny the Senate and House races. Clarifying the Presidential vote was my only intent. You’re reasonable in admitting it wasn’t a landslide. I can’t say that about many conservatives here. Bottom line is that it doesn’t matter. What matters is the U.S. getting behind the incoming administration and looking for the best outcome.

Ok fine, a major earth movement.

Hahahaha

Add it all up and the only thing to say is the democrats got their asses kicked top to bottom left to right everywhere. NO Democrat came out bragging anywhere.

In re: “What matters is the U.S. getting behind the incoming administration and looking for the best outcome.”

To ‘get behind’ the (ridiculous number of non qualified appointees) in the incoming admin? Makes this pooch appropriate here too I believe.

Come on now Terry , every lawyer & politician lies from time to time ~ and with so many laws , a lot of US are criminals •

You know as well as I do that trump is the biggest liar on the planet. So much so that he’s in a (low) class all to himself and can’t be compared to any lawyer or politician. Fess up red, you know it too.

Trump said the war in Ukraine would be over the day he took office. Trouble is he probably will side with Putin. Trump seems to have a problem with his appointments he had to fire or they quit or turned on him in his last term, poor judgment on his part? Maybe this time he can find enough unqualified, or perverted, ass kissers afraid of him to fulfill his agenda. I think I like his border czar so far. It’s going to be interesting.

trump’s judgment being interesting? Interesting? (That’s) a helluva interesting term for what’s gonna happen come January.
January? You mean a peaceful, decent transfer of power? That was 8 years ago, kind of hard to remember. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a scramble to find an alternate nominee for Secretary of Defense for starters.

Nobody’s qualified, from the top down so…I’ll bet that even the staunch republicans will be surprised and disappointed come January and I don’t see any evidence that his second choices (if any) would be any better. Have they ever been?
