Yep, for those of you just tunning in my beautiful 2008 Hayabusa got owned by a black Cobra Mustang this past weekend! Not being a Ford fan I didn't show him any love (Not that it mattered, cause all I ever saw was tail lights). Cruising with six or so other bikes down a stretch of highway (2 lane) when at about 60 mph this Cobra Stang comes rolling up on me. Not wanting to be disrespected by any car I roll the throttle on and pin it! He does the same almost anticipating my every move.... Ha I think to myself this is going to be ridiculously fun.. Two more gears go by, bang bang as I hit the shifter the roar of the motor and wind whipping past my head is almost deafening. My eyes are glued on the RPM gauge being very careful not to pass into the red zone! One gear left and I'm squeezing the throttle pretty hard while tucked into a nice little ball... Smiling now excited with the thought of my first casualty (Cars that is) I glance away from the gauges. WTF..... He's not next to me and even worse as I foucus hard on the rearview mirrors I see nothing. Damn, that can only mean one thing, my smile has reverted by now to that sad puppy dog look that only your pet can make. He was in front by a distance that I would rather not share. Shamefully I throttle off and none to soon as I cress a small hill I can faintly make out the siloutte of a squad car heading my way.. The Black Mustang is now but a memory. Later that same car pulls into a QT (convience store) the group has gathered to and proudly displays his ride! What a beautiful car I think to myself eagar to see whats under the hood. He waste no time popping the hood for all to see. His demeanor instantly changes when showing off his handy work to that of the proud parent displaying for the first time his newborn child. Only this was his car and one very fast one at that. Under the hood was a beautiful turbo system freshly installed with lots of beautiful craftsmenship. Everything had its place and the install looked flawless. While everyone gathered we discussed the days events and exchanged thoughts about the days happenings. Owned by a turbo Cobra Stang wasn't so bad as I soon realized his passion for that automobile was in deed equal to and dare I say even more so than my love of our Busa. So, if your ever out in my neck of the woods keep your eyes peeled for one very quick Black Cobra Mustang!
