Wild Busa Story

I see you are in VA. That's felony reckless driving if you get caught. You're lucky man! Both of you!

I humbled a Camaro last Summer ......guess he thought he had a chance since I was riding 2up. Wrong. Cages don't have a chance. I raced a Ford GT from 0-70mph. He was not far behind me. Also an old Mustang that was cammed and who knows what else was really fast.

One thing I will admit, I was totally embarassed by a Corvette that followed me off the expressway onto one of my favorite clover leaf exits. I was all hanging off the side. Got to the end and looked back, he stayed right on my a$$ without a problem.:lookaround:

Have a lill street racing story involving the fuzz.

Found a silver vette that wanted to play a little. The freeway was crowded, all 4 lanes full. I was in front waiting for the granny ahead of me to move over or exit. Finally she pulled one lane to the right. I down shifted a couple gears and pulled ahead then moved over one lane to leave a hole shot for the vette. I saw the vette come flying up on me. I dropped down into a tuck and nailed it as he appeared at my side. I shot right out in front and lost site of him. I think I looked in my mirror once because I know he was loosing ground. We are racing alongside a concrete barrier wall between opposite sides of the expressway. The vette is very low to the ground. I am down laying flat on my fuel tank. The barrier wall changes from four feet high to about three. If it were not for that we may have never even known........there was a sheriff parked on the other side in the freeway in the grass. His lights started spinning. I cut throttle and sat up. We flew by at 130 mph. less than 60 feet in front of that cop. No way he saw any license plates at that speed. About three seconds go by. I look in my rearview and I see the cop car jump forward on the grass and then jerk to a stop. He's stumped, I could read that without even seeing his face. WTF can he go??? There is a cement wall between him and us plus traffic going the opposite direction on his side and we are already almost out of sight. He would have to race to the next exit and go over the expressway to come down on our side and of course, we'd be long gone.

So what did we do? We both eased on the throttle and politely and quickly as possible slunk away at about 100 mph. After all we were trying to be inconspicuous. Two exits down the line, I pull off and the vette pulls off to. I hear his wheels chirp to a stop at the bottom. He heads East, I head South.

I w:laugh:ent home and hid the bike in the garage and prayed that there would be no knock on my door. A little too much excitement for me but one of my favorite stories.

Runners beware! Lots of cop cars now have HD quality video cameras on the front and rear with a DVR type setup that records everything. All they need to do is get a short view of your plate and they can find you!!

I agree. Always a bad idea to run.....unless, as was the case with my vette race, the cop is not even behind you but in some remote location. How the hell you know he's after you unless he can light you up?? Ofcourse, that won't stop them fropm mailing you a ticket witha HD pic of your bike. IDK if the helmet disguise holds water. You know, no one sees your face with a dark smoke face shield. Next they will be able to record your DNA from afar with Lazer or something like that. BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING!!

Back in STL I work the 3rd shift and would run home for lunch at 2 in the morning. Well taking the highway is only one exit down and about 3 miles. Going back to work got on the interstate at 2:45 am. Zero traffic in either direction. Opened it up just a little. Passed under a bridge and saw the parking lights of a state trooper hiding behind the bridge column. I passed him as I was slowing down to 150. Went over the hill and took the exit to work. Never saw any lights come on so I guess I caught him during naptime.
I like to believe he thought he never had a chance...
