Easy Greg, took me about 30 mins from start to finish. Don't forget to adjust the brake light switch when done with the brake lever. Bob

So i am going to buy a set of these. What else will I need. You mentioned spacers from a TL. Do I also need this? Would you post detailed instructions for the mod? I am mechanically challenged.

Ok Greg, First I had TL1000 pegs on the busa so I had the spacers already that made the TL pegs a tight fit. You will see them listed at Ayers parts list site for the TL1000 pegs. I wanted a good fit to the bike boss with the Buell pegs so I took the new pegs to a local fab shop to mill the .050 off each side that fits into the bike boss. The spacer hole is .470 and can be done with a drill bit but I had them reamed to correct size while at the fab shop. Needed to tweek the new pegs a little with my files to get the back side to fit flat. No big deal. The left side was a little close to the midpipe so I knocked off the edge of that peg a little. Again no big deal. The shift lever is on a splined shaft so I moved it down 1 spline and adjusted the length of the rod. I also moved the brake level down the same distance by moving the lever adj mechanism. Then adjusted the brake lite switch and was done. It is amazing how much better it feels when riding with the lowered pegs. Best mod I have done for comfort riding the busa. Hope this helps. Use the pictures already posted for reference. Bob

Just did mine.. fairly easy... some grinding and filing to fit right. One thing Im concerned about is tat your heel will sit VERY close to the pipes now. Any one burning their boots?

I still have a set of these pegs in the package. I wound up Finding a set of LP 360's Instead. If some one wants them I'll take 25.00 TYD and throw in the plastic bushings also. I'll ship priority and take paypal.

SOLD THANKS

oh.. one other thing..

I tried ordering by the part number the orignal modder posted... and i'd advise against it.. I ordred by that number and it backordered for the past 2 months... but you can order each individual peg for the same cost... just don't come together.

just a FYI and something to think about.

Hey everyone, sorry to drag this thread back up out of the deep but have a question...

Just picked up a pair of the XB9S pegs today and was wondering if anyone could offer some more insight as to the bushings they used to get the busa pin to fit the buell pegs...

Thanks,
Monty

Monty, I used the bushing from a TL1000 peg and just increased the size of the buell peg to let the bushing drop into place. The Busa pin fits into the TL1000 bushing and all is snug as bug (well you know).

Hey dude, yeah, thats the route I was hoping to go as well. Stopped into my stealership yesterday to check on the TL1000 bushing and got the major run around...no we don't have them, gonna take a couple weeks to get them blah blah blah. Am hoping to find a solution locally as I'm doing an all day ride in the mountains on Friday and would love to have my pegs done by then..

Thanks though...

I got mine fron a bearing and transission shop. Used 2 pcs for ea peg. Dont forget to readjust your brake light swtich

Got the pegs all fitted and installed. Can't say enough about how much more comfortable the bike is now. Never thought it would've made that much difference but it did. Absolutely amazing....gotta be a must do for tall riders. My knees thanked me for 200 miles yesterday....

Also, I made my bushings for the pegs out of 5/16 inside diameter steel spacers....got em at a local hardware store. Used my dremel to cut about a 1/4 inch piece off the spacer then fitted it into the peg and ground it flush, worked like a charm.

Hey everyone! I'm the guy who posted on this mod on SH.org (that's my bike in the pic's) I'm 6'6" and this mod worked out great! I got the idea while at the local Ducati/Buell shop. I had been loking for pegs that would give me some much needed leg room when I happend across a Buell XB12S. I noticed the pegs were set back/low quite a bit and I thought "that's what I need". After measuring the peg and comparing to my Busa's peg (I actually took a peg off of my Busa to compare at the shop) I thought "with minimal tweaking this should work". So I purchased a pair and I was off to my garage. The rest you've already read in the linked post. I did, however, find out the hard way that they scrape MUCH sooner than stock pegs (I removed the huge peg feelers before I ever put the pegs on). The pegs themselves don't actually scrape, my size 14's do. I've remidied this by raising the rear of the bike 1" (via shorter dogbones) and keeping the balls of my feet on the pegs while hiting the twisties. I know for dragging and top speed runs higher is not what you want, but I ride more twisties than I do top end so it's not a problem (plus the bike turns in WAY quicker now!) I very glad to see so many people have benifited from this simple mod.
