realistically, there is very little bike really needs. I would certainly look at the most common changes made by owners:

200Mph bike with 50Mph headlights....
Simple update on the gauge cluster *and move them or the windscreen for better visibility
Ergonomics of handlebars... this is a sport/TOUR bike, I like my Helibars
Did I mention the headlights suck?

This bike has held up against 8 years of attacks by other makers and it still sits on top of the pile... I am hard pressed to come up with anything they could do in order to make me buy a new scoot.

It is already fast, sexy and turns heads where ever it goes... what more could you ask

I'd be happy with
a windcreen redesign in the bubble format.
1400cc's
HID headlight (adjusted a little more realistically)
new wheel design.
I wonder if they'll dabble with some digital readout type of stuff.
Well, regardless, the 2008 is already designed and built and sitting in some
test facility somewhere.

For the most part, I'm happy with the entire machine now...
 
I will wait till they work "the bugs" out before i make up my mind. Ill see what the 08 has to offer and give it 2-3 years as i love my 05, there is too much blood sweat and time put into it to just give it up and start over
 
From what i've seen the last few years, most new bikes don't have hardly any bugs to work out anymore. Even if, that's what a warranty is for.
 
225 hp, cooler looking wheels, HID/LEDS, better windscreen, gear indicator, Oh and the one thing nobody has mentioned. A lifetime supply of "get out of jail free" cards!!!

Factory installed nitrous with progressive controller, limited edition stretched and slammed track preped versions available with DOT drag tires. You know just a couple of simple upgrades, nothing much...
