:PING: Greg With "HPC"

Sanctioned LSR events do not permit helemts that are not Snell ceritified. The brain buckets (1/4 helmet) that alot of harley riders wear have the same DOT approval. Just because someone is a pilot doesn't provide him any credit to helmet safety on a motorcycle. Also simply because someone sponsors you doesn't mean anything either.

Me personaly, I would NEVER endorse a product as being safe.

I have owned almost every helmet made, I have about 16 active helmets now, not all Akuma, all high-end...this is a great lid and I give it 25 thumbs up. People who know me know my standards. :beerchug:

Sactioned, Maxton as we all know is a hazard to your health besides going 200 MPH. I will trust my NET worth playing in Texas before I hit a pot hole at 200 MPH again or worse.

Sanctioned LSR as in SCTA-BNI, USFRA, and ECTA. Texas isn't a sanctioned event. You can do whatever you want there.

Your net worth isn't worth anything during an accident.

BTW my post is simply to provide ALL of the information in a non bias format. The facts and nothing more. I'm not saying anyone should buy or not buy these helmets. Simply making members aware of the facts.

Just curious with all your knowledge from actual hands on testing not (general) theory, why are you not on the Forbes.com site. I never see you there.

lets try and stay on topic. ???

When will the "G" series be available? Do you need another 60 minutes to find out?

The Werewolf and Gunfighter helmets I wear both have the strict ECE Europe rating as well, accepted in AMA Dragbike. Its a safe, cool helmet with some trick LED lights. Owner of the company is a former Navy fighter pilot, he has spent some time in a helmet going slightly faster than Mach II. :beerchug: They are also my sponsor!

Now, it makes sense why you are trying so hard to make a sale...

Why go through all the BS to make a sale. Give people the FACTS and let them decide on there own.

If it's not SNELL rated, it's not SNELL rated.....PERIOD! Maybe they are in the process of getting it tested/certified but until then it's ECE certified only....?

I think it really comes down to waying the options on one's behalf. I know for myself, i currantly ride with an Arai RX7(GREAT HELMET), only problem(for me anyways)is its blue/white. I really would like to get another Arai helmet that matches better, but have a hard time shelling out 900.00:shocked:(new price for 09 on there top of the line helmet). Now i know the saying goes, how can you put a price on your brain?.....and i AGREE 100%, but at the same time, just because you buy a helmet that "might" be lower quallity doent necessarily mean it cant protect you in the event of an accident. Like i said, i guess it comes down to weighing the Pro's against the Cons.....
Thank You both though for the Great info on both sides of the Table:thumbsup:, like cummuta said, it just helps to inform people to make a better personal decision.:beerchug:

Problem is SIR! its not BS!!!!!

well, no update on when the G series will be available... I'll look into this myself and let everyone know once I hear back from someone at Azuma directly.

Simply as a clarification, the helmets currently available are NOT Snell certified but are DOT and/or UN-ECE 22.05 certified.
gets the nod from DOT, SNELL and Europe's high standard test.

For anyone wanting to know more about the Untied Nations Economic Commission for Europe 22.05 certification you can check out United Nations Economic Commission for Europe for detail or for a brief description (sorry I couldn't copy the other link because it was a powerpoint slide deck).

I hope this helps everyone make good decisions

From the CEO's office, five minutes ago, out by June, MAYBE!....this concludes any other discussion...thanks

:2cents: regarding helmet safety standards:

The reality, IMHO, seems to be that there is no "best helmet" nor is there a "best safety standard". For an unbiased report/education on these matters, check out these articles:

Motorcycle Helmet FAQ - webBikeWorld

(and The now infamous) ... Motorcycle Helmet Design, Helmet Standards and Head Protection - Gear Box - Motorcyclist Online

FWIW, the Akuma helmets look pretty good to me and I'd rather take the word of a fellow rider and sponsor than a corporate certification. As far as implying that GPW has an hidden agenda doesn't seem valid given that a) he offers the helmets for sale (obviously he'll make money on a sale) and b) he posted without solicitation that Akuma was a sponsor of his. IMHO, he didn't "push" the helmet, he simply endorsed it when asked about the helmet. And, all things considered, it looks to be a perfectly good helmet.

Best of luck to all! :beerchug:

Thanks Greg saves me some time in finding out when their first Snell approved helmet might be available. :beerchug:

Melodic - I can't agree with you more on your points about safety. Some say softer helmet is better than a harder one and other say harder is better. There are more than a few test different snell test, TUV tests, JWL, etc. Who's right of course can be debated.

I for one wouldn't rely only on DOT or ECE certificate since these are more political than anything. I think Greg just mis-spoke when he said they're Snell approved.

I would not intentionally guide anyone the wrongway, never have.....in the future if you think I mis-spoke..shoot me a PM and I will correct it, it will save these stupid posts, its gi(e)tting OLD. I was a Police Academy "USE OF FORCE-K9" Instructor- Eithics are there.

wow i think we got a little of subject didnt we, anyway its still a badazz helmet and im sure its safe, thanks for sharing...

I prefer not to point out others faults and instead tend to just provide additional information so that the majorities have a better understanding. Many individuals tend to perceive things as personal attacks. In the future I'll send you a PM in an effort for you to be able to correct any misleading information you may have inadvertently provided. I wouldn't say this thread is stupid though. The helmets look good and I’m sure the price is right. I’m just trying to provide everyone here the correct information.

Similar to yourself my past and present experiences tend to dictate who I am and how I carry myself. :beerchug:
