Pitbull vs porcupine

Are there THAT many bad/abusive owners of pitbulls vs. other dogs?
Sort answer..... YES!!!!

Think of it this way.... You're poor, want a big dog. Unfortunately, people who breed Sheperds usually look at the homes they are going to, BUT people who breed pits USUALLY could care less. Reason? Sheperds are more expensive to care for, and are generally a higher class dog than a pit. BUT a pit can be just as nice as a Sheperd, just depends on the owner as stated in my above post.

The unfortunate truth is, people that don't have much money and are a-holes but want big dogs go for pitbulls. I'm not saying all pitbull owners are poor, just the majority of the attacking dogs are owned by poorer folk.
Ok, but let me throw this out...have you priced pitbulls? They aren't exactly a cheap dog.

its the point that in the media thats all you are going to hear is about the bad pittbulls. they are sterotyped as bad dogs for no reason. and i used race as a example. i think of my dogs just as i do another human. The fact is ALOT of people GET pittbulls for the reason they want a mean agressive dog , so they keep it locked up in a cage and throw it raw meat , make it run and do stupid tasks all day to get it bigger , feed them gunpowder and keep them closed off from ANY contact. The pittbulls normally are stubborn goofy fun loving dogs. Its all in how their handled , and yeah its sad that about 40% of pittbulls are raised either to fight or be mean. And because of that their outlawing even owning one. my pittbull is an inside dog , i also have a palmeranium and a 3lb miniture chihuahua , the 3lber chases my pitt around the house. Never any problems with the pitt with her , to people , or the kids. She may lick you to death but thats about it. But i wasnt getting nasty at the opinion that pittbulls are just bad natured dogs. i was mad that he tried to throw out facts like the going nuts over blood #### that are completely made up. Pitts are used as fighting dogs and hince people are scared of them , did you know that chows are illegal to own in some citys? what about german shepards , since german shepards are used as police dogs they are TRAINED to be deadly and i have heard of them turning on their owners. training a dog to fight or attack will almost always lead to bad things either toward the owner or someone innocently walking by. Theres alot of dogs that are on breed restrictions , Also its good news that pittbulls are evil , you dont hear about the pittbull who got shot saving his family from a robber in the middle of the night , or the one who fought off a armed car jacker in his owners garage while he guy was trying to pull her out her car. thoes were actually on the news awhile back. As i was stating there are bad owners of pitts , because of the reputation they carry bad owners often SEEK them. So yeah owners are at fault just like i think if a kid is bad when their older its the parents fault. Shoulve tought them better.

The main thing is a dog really wont attack unless it either feels threatened or it thinks it HAS to . almost any animal rather run than fight unless its been trained not to. Mean the dog probley thought you was going to hurt it and bit , you didnt intentionally provoke it but it felt threatened or thought you was a threat to its family or home. theres always a reason behind actions... human , or animal. grant it there may be some cases where like a mental illness or something plays into part. but again that can be any dog. or person for that matter .... by the way forgot to mention this earlier the DOG in the picture isnt a pittbull , its a bull terrier.

You have to be carefful what you list as a Pit Bull type dog. There are at least 6 different breeds. PitBull is one of them. I have had Shelties, Dalmation, Boxer, Aierdale, and a Rat Terrier over the years, by far the best dog that I had is the dog I own now. He is an American Stafforshire. Some like to call him a Pit Bull. He is the most loving dog you will find. He plays well in the dog parks where he has been attacked by Irish Setters, Dalmations, and a Golden. Zane will stop what ever he is doing on command at 2 years old. He will however protect his self as most dogs will do. He learns in 3-4 times of training. This is a very very gentle caring dog, however he is strong enough to drag me inb tug of rope. You always (no matter what dog) need to keep an eye on the surroundings. You also never should allow kids to go up to any strange dog with out the owner holding the dog on a leash, not jsut for biting but jumping etc. Any dog can have problems. Statistics are high for Pits because they are popular in the cities where they are trained to fight, hjowever if you look at over all statistics you will find Cocker Spaniels and Dalmations on top of the list for bits.

That is not a Pit Bull, it is a Bull Terrier.
Look at the head.

I have owned Pits before.
Great dogs. Will die to protect you or the family.
My last Pit was raised as a yard dog. You could come into the yard and kick him, he would just roll onto his back and piss.
If another dog invaded his territory he would put on his cape with the big "S" on it and kick some ass.
His name was Buck.

pitbulls are a very good family dog i use to have a pitbull and a doberman when i was little his name was rocky and my mom told me that he watched us when my mom had to go some where but i would have my cousin with me and when we would play outside and if i went 2 far he would bark 3 times so yall go ahead and think that pitbulls and dobermans are viscous and dangerous dogs but i think they are very loving and loyal ! and yall saying they go crazy if they see or smell blood yall crazy i fell and hurt my knee and blood kept onn coming out while my mom was cleaning it up i was laying right by rocky and tennessee (the doberman) they both died of old age when they were 14 years old

Dog's are bred to have certain characteristic's. Hunting, tracking, racing, and yes fighting. It is unfortunate, but true. Unfortunately, since sissies out there feel the need to be vicarious badass' through their canines, they add to the predisposition of the fighting breeds by withholding food, water, and basically making their lives miserable. Simple beasts, dogs automatically associate this cruel treatment to the "alpha"...sad but true. A dog's love is unconditional, making them easy prey for useless pieces of crap that probably beat their wives and molest their kids, as well.....,

hahahahahaha sorry thats funny... that dog really wanted that porcupine to keep going back that much lol.... on a side not it sucks pulling those things out

Although this thread is completely off topic I will say this. For all who believe that the current list of "bad" dogs is based on all of them being bad should do some research. Proven fact- there is a direct correlation between dog breed popularity and the # of attacks. The more popular the breed the more likely to inbreed to meet demand. Inbreeding leads to mental problems(dog or human). That fact mixed with bad owners who fail to socialize the dog or kids who like to antagonize a dog through the fence is what leads to attacks. There are only two breeds of dogs that I know of that are just aggressive more often than not. That is the chow chow and the pressa canario(check my spelling).

Bottom line, agree to disagree. I love rotts. I have friends with Pitts. I also have friends with little dogs. The meanest dog I have been around.... A min pin! Evil little snots! Those and chihuahuas. I'll take a Pitt over those any day!

Yep,English Bull Terrier(i had one).Have also had 3 Pits, picture is of "Boy",10 years old last month and the best, most gentle dog i've ever owned(which is a good thing as being 115 lbs. he'd have somebody for lunch if he ever got pissed:laugh:,but it's just not in him to do so).Pits were never bred to be people aggressive, and throughout my 58 years have been bitten[unprovoked]by almost every breed of dog(Rotties,Shepherds,a damned Poodle, etc.)EXCEPT a Pit.He's not even dog aggressive, and has had several opportunities to get busy when unleashed dogs tried to get in his face, but he paid no attention. All the neighborhood kids come over and play ball with him,he's just a big, goofy clown.
