power commander 2000 busa

last time I checked the 99-01 were 16bit
where did you find your info?

I don't remember the source info, It's something I dug up when I was looking into a PC3 for my bike, and researching which one would work.

You can see if you go to the power commander site and select the Hayabusa from the drop down menu's they separate it (because the 8 / 16 / 32 bit versions), '99-'00 / '01 / '02-'07

So, be very careful when buying a used one, because many think they are all the same.

Edit: Both a couple posts down, last one goes back and forth on it for a bit.

Is it just the stator cup that needs to be changed as far as the pickup or do you change out more parts than that? I noticed changing some pins replacing the stator and the new ECM and I could use the ECU editor software. I am checking on EBAY right now for the parts. Anything else I am missing?

Brian I have a PC3USB for sale if you are interested. It can off of my 99 Busa. You can also add an Ignition module that allows you to control and adjust the ignition timing.

I saw the stator cup on ebay for about 125 and I can get an ECM for another 125 or so then change the pin out of the wires. I jut want to be sure all I need is the stator cup itself

Has anyone done the 32 bit mod can you tell me exactly what I need from the 02 and up Busa for stator parts

I've got a 00 busa as well and the pc3usb is what I have on the bike and it will only let you adjust for fuel, dynojet hasn't made a ignition module for the bike as far as I know. The one they make for the busa is for a 02 and up.

Frank I do not think a PC3R will work on a 99-00

Brian, the Cheeseman is correct. The PCIIIR will not work on a 2000. The PCII will, and it is able to control fuel and timing, but is generally considered a POS. It can be used in conjunction with a PCIIIUSB on the 99-00 when you need a box to control timing. That is about all it is good for. If you had a turbo or a nitrous setup on that year Busa, it would be an option, since the EFIR boxes are no longer available.

But, from what you are saying, you are looking for more control. Updating your rotor and going to a 32-bit ECU would probably be your best bet, as ECU editor offers a lot more control over a lot more things than a powercommander ever will. Both the latest powercommander and ECU editor have their places and purposes, and many times are run together.

Johnny, thanks for the correction. I had a senior moment there.

I have a pc3 on my 99

Ok so there are some statements saying that it won't work on a 99' and one that says it does. I would like to buy something that works to tune my bike, which is it please.
Thanks

I may be wrong, but I think there is a PCIII that will work with the 99 and 00 Busa. It is USB, but I dont think it is the PCIIIR You should get the part number and go to the powercommander website and compare to the one they sell for your bike.

Thanks I bought the PC3USB that Gixx1300R had for sale...he promised it would work on a 99'.

If you do the conversion to 32 bit you are not supposed to need the PCIII You can use the editor to do all the things and more that the PCIII can do. Problme is I cant get anyone to tell me exactly what I need to buy to do the conversion I think it is the stator cup that goes around the stator itself and the 03 and up ECU. Then change some pins in the wiring, but the stator I am not sure about so I havent pulled the trigger on the parts yet.

'99-'00 models !
Swap ECU pins
36 to 43
56 to 33
60 to 53

??? :poke: Johnnycheese , Correct me, if am wrong.

When you say rotor, do you mean the outside cup part or the inside part with all of the copper windings????
