You should have no problem adjusting the height of your shift lever. I would never let a dealer shop touch my bike for anything that simple. The less they fork with it the better. If it's more complicated than the shift lever, like it's something inside, that's different and I would take it in.
I had the same problum took it to the dealer twice and of course they found nothing wrong.It has gotten much better after the amsoil change and now i clutchless shift into 6th and it never happens.
