So after the great success of my front caliper rebuild, I ordered the rear kit. Didn’t take too many pictures as I am tired and still need to bleed them tomorrow. I noticed even movement on both sides but a bugger to get out. Had to use compressed air. Both dust seals had a small kink in them like the front did. Went back together smoothly. Tried to get them good and clean but I think this is the first time they were apart and 49k worth of gunk is hard to erase.
As you can see, pretty dirty
pistons appear at equal distance
air gun to pop pistons out
that gunk was pretty hard caked
tried to show the kink in the seal
mo bettah, still dirty but good as its getting today
works great to get the crud off
cleaning out the threads. M10X1.25 tap
Could be one of the many reasons the brakes were hanging
