As said Michelins...
Well said. I use the same on both the R1 and the Busa. I do use them on the street but no commuting at all on either.Michelin Power Race medium/softs and PRC fronts.
I run the 190/55 rear b/c of better turn in. But you may have to make some minor geometry changes b/c it can affect overall handling and suspension function. And I went up +2 on the rear gearing to compensate for the slight acceleration losses. Now it feels like stock gearing, but with a 55 profile.
and I do nothing but trackdays anyways.
+1 ONLY HAVE ABOUT 80 MILES ON MINE, I ran HPX Mich, before the 2CTMichelin 2CTs have always worked well for me.
I'm going in for a replacement of the stock tire on my '08 shortly, and have chosen the 2CT because it has a harder center strip which allows for more commutes without wearing the tire out before I can get to the weekend (and summer night-time) twisties.
There are a few applications which should be considered when you're choosing, however. The stickier the tire, the shorter life it will live...better for casual track-day dudes...sometimes costlier.
I do the gamut of riding: long road trips, commuting, and tons (TONS) of twisties. For me, and for others who ride like I do, I can solidly recommend the Michelin 2CT.
Let us know what you choose...
What didn't you like about the qualifiers?I had a set of Qualifiers on the Busa once. I took them off at about 1/2 tread because I didn't like them. The stockers were better in my opinion.I've read a lot of good comments on the Dunlop Qualifiers, so I may go that route once my stockers are spent.
Must not have been to bad/dangerous if you let a friend ride on themWhat didn't you like about the qualifiers?I had a set of Qualifiers on the Busa once. I'm absolutely in love with Qualifiers. Only street tires I've ever witnessed the passenger dragging their knee on. Both riders on our race team use them for their street bikes and are impressed with their performance. Both use their street bikes on Qualifiers while instructing. My own personal experience with Qualifiers, I can't find a single thing to criticize? But I did take a set of PP's off my GSXR1K after two weeks and one track day. Donated them to a friend and have no desire to go through that experience again.
Until someone shows me a street tire that performs better, I'm sticking to my Q's!
I like Pirelli Diablo Corsa III for the same reasons...Michelin 2CTs have always worked well for me.

IMO, through my own research and the feedback I have received it's okay to mix tires as long as they are similar in performance (extreme ex: don't put a touring tire on front with a racing slick on the rear) and you don't do extreme cornering. What about mixing? say a storm front with a Azaro back?
I bought a like new Azaro for the rear(good deal) but can't find a front anywhere in the Busa's size.. Can I run a Storm and what if any effects will there be?
