Recommend Tires for 08

I'm done with the stock tires and I'm looking for what you all like as replacements. I use the bike to commute 25 miles each way to work, but 12 miles of it is canyon riding. It's awesome. I'm looking forward to your input.
Thanks.:welcome:

Another tire thread...Avon Storms came highly recommended by reputable members of this board and I have been very happy with mine for a all-around street riding tire. Great wear and handling.

I must add that you will begin to notice loss of roundness around 4K, but to a 80-100 degree (leaning) commuter (and 80% of my riding is just that), should not notice too much. At 5K the "flat" on the centerline becomes slightly annoying on the leans, but tread still remains better than wear indicators. It will catch then roll on each lean. I'm sure many of us have experienced that.

Hot Damn, I've gotta have me some of them Shinkos! 100 degree lean angles, WOW! 90 degrees is when your face meets the pavement so I'm real interested in how them thar cheap tires will get me another 10 degrees after my ear is attached to the pavement?

:poke:

You're so wrong dude

I'm on the BT-021's right now, but looks as though I'm only gonna get about 5K out of them... (got 4200 out of my OEMs)... I was hoping for at least 7K miles - I heard one dude say that he got 12K out of his Avon Storms......... I don't know - but I'll probably try those next.

I have been riding on BT016's for about 1000 miles. They are the best feeling and handling tire I have ever tried. I like them better than the PilotPower 2CT's, and Avon Viper Sports (which are much softer than the Storms).

for a mix of commuting without track days, i like the Pirelli Diablo Strada...fairly high mileage tire (got over 7000 miles out of the last rear and i weigh >280 and carry luggage at times) that has good grip in almost any condition and is the only tire i want on in wet or sub-freezing temps :beerchug:
