or whatever you call them .
Who makes and where can I get the magnets you put on your bike to trip traffic lights. I'm tired of sitting there forever.

Is there a special one that works for bikes or should I just put a magnet from Harbor Freight in the bottom of cowling ?

I don't think you need them with the Bus, just put most of your bike to the left or right lines if you can see them. The black outlines in the road, place as much linear lines with the body of the bike and it should pick you up.
Works for me, here in Cali.

I rode with a BIG BOY that rides a Victory Hammer and he had one....never seemed to really work and he was pushing close to 1000 pounds on that sucker! I'd say save your money or put the bike on the kickstand and run over and push the crosswalk signal.

We have the one cycle rule here. If you sit through a whole cycle of the intersection and you light still doesn't turn green, Bikes can make a free left. It is great to see the look on the people sitting in their cage as you take a left.

I have heard if you put your kick stand on the line comming into the square were the sensor is it will trip. Seattle also has "X's" where bicycles stop and the lights will trip.

I have one friend who grabs a fist of front break over the sensor. We can all see the problem he is bound to have.

Putting the kickstand down will require you to take it out of gear. NOT a good idea if you need to hot foot it out of there. I have seen bikes get rear-ended because the car behind them when as soon as the light changed. I've had a few close calls. I never put the bike in neutral at a stop light.

I wait a reasonable amount of time, then run it. I figure, if i get pulled over ill just ask the officer to allow me to demonstrate.

He will say no, ill get a ticket, and be on my way:whistle:

I think people use the rare earth neodyium magnets...woodworking shops should have them by the hinges / latches etc. If you get large ones be careful not to pinch you fingers taking them apart.

This reply may be a bit late, but for anyone who might read it - I have been using Loop Spurs (clicky) for the last year here in the Seattle area. I have yet to wait at a red light since I put them on. Just stuck 2 of them under my swingarm of my Busa my frustration went away.

Sorry my first post in ths forum is about a product, but I feel that strongly about it and just wanted to share.

Ride safe bro.

Thank you MrBig..I'll look into them.
The lights here in Fl suck and cycle again and again right past me never giving me turn signal or green for straight travel.
I need something because it sucks sitting at a light at 1-2am in the morning.
Been run over once and dont want it again...

and by the way...:welcome:...to their house....fridge is over there help yourself and the burgers are almost done...

I hate having to sit at lights, especially in the early morning hours. It can get a little dangerous having to wait. Will have to check this product out and welcome to the .org!!

You're welcome Blanca. And thanks for the warm welcome. I hope they work out for you should you decide to try them. I've also turned my other riding buddies on to them with great success.

Funny how many shops around here dont sell these types of things. All I got when I called around was "you can just make a turn after xxx amount of cycles of the red light".

Sorry that wasnt good enough for me.

It is what I do now and would honestly rather take a ticket and tongue lashing from a cop than sit at a light at 2 am waiting to be run over.

are they just strips of copper? Looks like thats all they are

I'm not exactly sure. They do look like copper, but from what I remember they claimed to have been made of some other type of material. I feel a little bad right now after trying to get on the part of their website that sells them, and it seems that that item may not be available anymore. Pretty poor website at that.

You might want to try and contact them thru their contact page and see if they're still available. Sorry for the poor info. I bought mine just after I bought the busa.

If you decide to contact them, let me know if you have any luck. I have a neighbor who is restoring a vintage yamaha whom I'm sure would appreciate a set of them.
