ok...which part are you talkin about?

The bolt thing or the hex thing?
 
I have no hex head lol. One side is just round, with a round hole in the middle. one side needs a allen key to get it out. Maybe the 05 is different?? I know i loosen the pinch bolts on only one side etc etc.. done it before! just lacking tools at the moment

It appears the 05 models have different fork assemblies from the 99 models.

Ok...NOW I see what everyone's talkin about. Dang new-fangled gadgets....

okay.. mine looks similar to this.. i am not sure if this one below is the correct size, but it really easy to use.. just stick this thing in and use a car lug not remove on the other end.

actually, i was thinking.. maybe someone can cut my steel rod.. its about 27 inches. ill give you half of it.
i dont know how quickly you need it.

i think yours hex is the same as mine.

well i never really put my bikes away as I ride them all year long. Crrently mine is stripped of the bodywork/tank. I am trading up stuff with Creekboy so I am sending him all my stuff. He's gotta shoot my tank though since its a newer one and he'll send the stuff my way. In the mean time, I want to take the wheels off, clean em up, i dunno, do something while im waiting lol.

what about you? yours away yet? if not, we could go fir a ride in a couple weeks!

where in mass? im going back to CT on dec. 18th ... i work out there and og to school out here in Flint.. rotate every 3 months between the 2
 
by the way.. anyone know how i can get solid stainless steel.. i could cut my 27 inch rod into maybe 5 or 6 pieces and send them out to whoever wants to use them (if they havent dont the hardware store version)
