Riding jackets

Okay, so now that I have the bike, i need a riding coat. I'm looking for suggestions on what people's esperiences have been with various brands and models. I've looked at the Joe Rocket Meteor, but I'm afraid that it would be too hot in the summer. Any input would be greatly appreciated. oh, and I want to go with a textile jacket thats NOT mesh. I want to start riding here as soon as the snow is gone, and mesh isn't gonna cut it.

Thanks in advance, everyone.

Love my Alter Ego.

Any weather anytime.

Go shopping and see what fits you best!

Or you'll end up with a closet like mine,, about 10 jackets!

I have the Joe Rocket Alter Ego. It is fine for finding in the middle of SC. Have had it for a few seasons and like it. It is a jacket that is designed to convert from winter, to summer, to wet riding, and has removeable back, shoulder and elbow pads.
I was able to use the 'New Enough' price to get my dealership to match the price.

Yeah...like he said here...lol
hey, but you going to end up buying a few...for summer, for cooler, for cold, one piece, two piece...etc.
but, if you asking for best? for me in summer...(although, winter jackets are, just matter of how many shirts you are going to wear...so go figure...)
now, in summer time is different, and you make sure to get some hot gear...it feels like you turned on AC under your jacket...thats how it is....
finally the Joe rocket's super moto jacket was my last choice, as soon as I started rolling off the parking lot? it starts cooling me off already...price is kinda stiff, but you pay for what you get...I have a mesh jacket too, but I never wear it...

I have two jackets, mesh with a zip out liner that is good for just about any weather. Also have a custom leather (V 1.8) from Fox Creek Leathers with a zip out liner that is awesome but it is heavy. They also have jackets that are made from Cordura that are great also. Depends on your size, I am 6'2" long in the arms and trunk so they added a couple of inches to it for me. NOT cheap though, NewEnough has some great products and prices unless you are hard to fit.

I like my Joe Rocket Hayabusa jacket. Some members are craving this one because they are still on backorder.
Got mines from a guy on Ebay who bought the jacket first and then decided he wasn't going to get a Hayabusa. Lucky Me.

I have three Alpinestars: 1) Spinner (great for all weather; has a removable vest, and has zippered vents in the sleeves, shoulders, and back; it's perforated leather) that I wear all the time; 2) JD (non-removable liner; has a weathered look, and it's leather), that I never wear; and 3) the Air Flo (textile mesh with a removable liner), which I also never wear.

This is the best all around jacket for any season. It has a zip out liner (waterproof) and the outer shell can zip off for really hot days in summer. I've used mine year around and ridden in everything from 35 - 105 temps. Tested waterproof too.. UGH!

Another good one is the Tourmaster Flex that my wife has... same concept as the Alter Ego, but has 2 liners instead of one. (one waterproof and one thermal)

I like Icon. their Skull Motorhead saved my butt with minimal dmg. to the jacket too...rolled of my Busa doing a 12 o'clock n landed on my rt shoulder-just kept rolling till I wound up on my feet n I was up-barely scratched my knee n one wrist. Great jacket even hot-it has 6 vents and full perf. underarms with a full-sleeved zipout quilted liner...great coat man-been through 5-6 rainstorms n some snow too (wore it all last winter) n still looks fantastic-no fading at all.
