Rubber ran out.

12000 miles plus burn outs?

I barely get 4000 miles out of a tire and they look almost like that.

need to try one of those pr2 I guess.

I have a PR2 rear and it's very close to the wear bars, evenly, all the way across, at 3600 miles. Yup that's with 38-39 lbs in it religiously, riding twisties. Great tires, but totally beyond me how people get those kinds of miles out of them.

seems too good to be true to me....but hey, last time I called b/s the post is near 6 pages and no further ahead than the beginning.

So if he says 12,000 miles and 100 burn outs....

its his story...

12K out of a tire? wow... and the what about all that stuff left on the sides? you ever make a corner? (lefty/righty) I think I still see the nubs on the tread..

Bro, you can still get another 4000 outta that tire as long as you dont get on any straightaways:laugh:.....has that bike ever seen a curve????

This bike turns but I do alot of highway rides out of town. Usually around 500 to 1000 miles a trip. And for everyone that says that they only get 4000 miles from a tire you really need to look at your setup because something is wrong.

you honestly need to charge for this info. I mean if I could triple the life of my rear tire, I could save $1000-1500 per year per bike.

I know on my busa, the stock bt56j lasted 1800 miles before seeing cords with ZERO burn outs.

Ok...so the rear sproket is 10 up and the front is two down...you gotta mention that when you talk about mileage...jk jk jk jk jk jk jk jk... :beerchug:

never say never... I know a board member that got 5000+ out of a Dunlop Qualifier... figure if a guy could do that, 12K may not be out of the question..

Some guys have a need to fly the city streets, some do it on the drag strip and ride like old ladies when out on the road..

I got 7K out of a Corsa3 from running highway miles.. (3000-3500 normal from 2 other sets)

I dont ride like a granny and I still hit the local strip alot. but you guys keep refering to different tires...Im only talking about the PR2. My qualifier on the front has 3000 miles on it and only has about 2000 miles left on it. Im not trying to start a little discussion on this I'm just tellin what I got from this tire.

he said his setup is why he gets the mileage

I have NEVER gotten such mileage and would be super interested in his setup...

maybe he does know a secret...maybe not.

However if he does have a secret setup....the info is definitely worth something (to me at least)

What do you mean my setup? As in my sprocket choice? Although it could be the roads you ride, is the reasons you dont get much mileage. I dont really do anything different from what everyone else does.

tire mileage from bike to bike on the same rubber is mostly a single factor... "the right wrist" I can eat up a set of tires in under 2K pretty easy or make them last 5K.. but it would seem more like 25K...

I already have a commuter vehicle.. I bought the bike to have fun.. I pick my times and places and ride the wheels (literally) off the poor thing..

That is your comment about MY setup yielding such low results...

now please share with us your setup that yields such high life span of the tires.
