just before 1700 yesterday, i left the house and met BusaWhipped coming from Foristell, MO...we headed down I-55 and ended up just south of Jackson, MS at a Waffle House at 0130 this morning...at that point, we had ridden approximately 534 miles...after a good breakfast, we turned around and headed for home...i rolled in about an hour ago with a total of 1080 miles...now, i just have to get all the paperwork together and turned in for the Saddlesore 1000 from the Iron Butt Association but i don't think it is going to happen today as i am tired, wet, and cold...it was a great experience though

i would like to say thanks to Da Col for all his help answering questions and great advice, i probably would have never done it if he hadn't taken the time to encourage me to stretch myself a little

i also want to say thanks to BusaWhipped for being such a great riding companion...trust me bro, you will say this was a fun trip once the pain wears off

also, thanks to each and every one of you who make me challenge my limits and abilities...i know my life would have been much different if i wasn't surrounded by the great people on here (of course, i also wouldn't have been riding through a rainstorm in the middle of Mississippi at 0330 this morning either  )...i consider myself blessed to be able to count so many of you as friends :beerchug:

p.s. BusaWhipped has the pics so don't yell at me about not posting any

no, we just wanted to see if the waffles in Mississippi tasted like the ones in St. Louis

j/k, we did the Saddlesore 1000 (i left that part out and went back and edited it in- thanks bro :beerchug: )

2 :thumbsup: for doing it on a Busa !

thanks bro, everyone we talked to going down and coming back looked at us like we had lost our minds...most of the time, after we had finished telling them what we were doing, they would just look at us and say, "You're doing what?"

that would have been cool, this is just something that came together in the last few weeks...i didn't have anything else to do this weekend, so why not jump on the bike and ride 1080 miles? :cookoo:

i really need to get the cruise control put on Lucy!

I was just about to hit "Submit New Thread" when I double checked to make sure we weren't both starting this at the same time. Looks like we are still riding together

semi is an awesome traveling companion. This is the 4th long trip we've done together this year. We came close before at nearly 800 miles, but we were both carring luggage for 4 days. I think this 1,000 miles empty was easier than the 800 fully loaded. I came in officialy at 1067 (I had another 12 I won't quibble over). Like semi, I'll be getting the documentation together ans submitting for certification (I need to let the receipts and log dry out).

I know you are all wanting pics. Most aren't very exciting, they are just documenting the trip. But for your viewing pleasure:

vman rode this ride with us.
These are prior to semi and I meeting up. (yes, I had to ride the first 48 miles alone)

1 ) I didn't get a pic of the GPS at our first stop together because we were being attacked by swarms of mosquitoes the entire time. But we got revenge on out way out of town.
2) Me and semi having breakfast at the Waffle House in Jacksom MS.
3) The rain in Vaiden
4) semi during our fuel stop in Vaden
5) The GPS reading at my ending fuel stop.
