saved up some coin and got the Liberator from Cycleprotect its a GPS tracking system that follows my bike everywhere and has its own back-up power supply that goes 8hrs on its own after a full battery drain/power cut-off. IMHO?? its dah shizz-nit!

get a roadlok for starters.  once locked the bike wont roll at all.  a pin goes through one of the holes in the rear disc. no way you can forget and tear off a caliper. once you start to let the clutch out you will realize that it wont move.  i got the show chrome
shazammm thats what I need to match the rest of the chrome, I havnt seen that a chrome option was even offered!? and so far $80 is the cheapest ive found pm me or reply where did you get yours?
thanks all and for the random laughs too

Roadlok for me...  Chains do not travel well and so useless there.

I keep the bike covered (Geeza) and conspicuously parked.

On the road, I just ask the hotel operator where is the best place to park a bike..

They have always offered spots I would not even think to ask for.. (keeping bike clean helps).  In St Louis they opened their private garage for me, outside Columbus OH, they had me roll it into the lobby (was brand new and they wanted the eye candy).

It is not uncommon for my bike to be parked on the sidewalk right at the front door in plain site of the front desk..
You are the MAN! I can't ever get that kind of service. What's up with that?

I just got my I900 scorpio installed and all i can say is wow. The perimeter sensor is the bomb. It picks up too 20 feet away if you change the intensity. I can now go to work and not have to go check on the bike every 1/2 hour.

On a side note if you order the scorpio system the perimeter sensor and ignition killer is extra. I found out the hard way.

THEY WILL NOT WORK IN DC. THE CROOKS ARE TO SMART IN THIS AREA, JUST DON'T LEAVE IT WHERE YOU CAN'T SEE IT. IT'S PRETTY BAD FOR SPORT BIKES IN DC

2 Alarmed Xena's work great.
One front and one back.
The batteries have lasted 2 years too, and they come with lots extra.
I have bright yellow one's which are easier to see.
If you forget to take them off and try and drive away they will hurt the bike... but isn't that how they are supposed to work? They will go off if you even just touch the bike, so you would have to be in a real hurry to forget them.
I also put a Master Electric Switch under the seat Hump. It turns off all of the electrical from the battery to the whole bike.
I had a bike burn from an electrical fire which I could not stop, and I can now shut it all off with a key that sits in there until you take it out.
Also makes it a little harder to steal.

dont know if this is a gd deal.

Insurance and got get sentimental over it, it's just a bike, enjoy it and don't worry about the rest of it. Now that doesn't mean be stupid, like me and leave my key in it when I park it... duh....

true, im not stupid about it or really worried, I dont park it in strange places or am ever that far from it, I was just thinking it might not be a bad idea to add something besides the steering lock, like a XENA XR1 disc lock alarm combo(pic), or a regular kryptonite

Well to date I have seen that solution cost 2 fenders and a stator cover when the guy fell over..

All you need to do is forget it one time and wham, fender is trash.. I would spend the extra few bucks and get the roadlok..
I have this disc lock and it did cost me a fender when I forgot it and didn't hear it going off! I have since learned to put it on the rear. I have forgotten it a couple times on the rear but no damage was done thankfully.

didn't hear it???

that thing's 123db, might wanna get those ears checked ;)

I installed a GPS tracking device on my bike. Don't bother with that rojone bike bandit stuff. No point paying 1400$ for a talking system when you can build one yourself for about 90$. Monthly service runs about 5-8$ for 100 checks or 10-13$ for 500 checks.

Check out opengpstracker.org for more info to get you started.

This is one way you can do it.

The way I did it was a little more expensive. Basically I added a second SERO line. 30$ a month and wired my htc touch somewhere in the bike (won't say where) ;). I then have a program called GPS gate that runs on it and the GPS data is fed through the wireless evdo connection.

From there I can pull in the GPS data from any computer or even my second phone that I use for personal use and get real time data 24/7.

The second option is 30$ a month but it's 24/7 realtime. the first option is basically a "where are you?" ping to the phone.

I'm planning on modding the phone and removing the camera and putting mounting it behind the dash board of the bike via a pinhole and have it set up to email a photo of the driver in addition to GPS updates via email.
