Security?

In about a month I will have my new 2008 Hayabusa! My first and only bike was a 97' Katana ( I it sold 4yrs later) . I had no idea how to ride it when I bought it..I've always loved motorcycles but I was more sucked in to the inevitable as I saw more riders day in and day out in and around Atlanta riding and having a great time. The day of purchase, I had to ask her(salesperson) if she could give me the basics. Since I couldn't ride it out of the dealership! So they kindly delivered it to my place and then I headed for a nice empty Church parking lot and began to take it slow. Just thinking about that day, makes me smile! OH well fast forward, I now live in North VA! So the right thing to do was to officially learn the correct and proper way of riding my passion, off the MSF Class I went!
OK now, that was a lil about me, and Im loving this FORUM, so I figured Im coming up on my purchase date so Im curious to know or from the experienced what type of Security should I get with my 08' ? Here's the setup..I have a SUV, I live in an apartment that has a garage, but not a "personal" garage, t he community type. Its gated (which means nothing in reality but on paper it's just something to jack the price up)
Here's where I was going to start.. LO-Jack installed on day of purchase/ and Cover/ I even thought of renting a small storage unit..
More suggestions welcomed, offered and advised...
Thanks to all!

Welcome to the oRg. For bike security, you cant go wrong with the Lo-jack, Scorpio makes a nice alarm with a perimeter sensor and paging function. Get the cover for sure and always cover her when not riding it. Also look into a Roadlok. Bottom line, make it as difficult as possible so the the thief will look for an easier target, however, keep this in mind. If they really want it, they are going to get it. Just do what you can to prevent it.

Thanks for the welcome! I'll post my pics when I get the bike, I definitely will get L0-Jack and cover. I'll  read up on Scorpio, Im hearing positive posts about it so far..I like the idea of the paging function! Not sure what the Roadlok showchrome..but im off to read up on it.
Your right about one thing..I guess if the F*ckr's really want it..they'll get it..but damn if its going to be easy!
Peace and Thanks !!!!

Welcome!

Best defense against theft is good insurance. Like mentioned, if they really want it they will take it.

Not sure on brand, but you can get a lock that goes through you brake disc. They can't roll the bike away then. They small and can store them under the hump. so can be used anywhere. If it bad by where you live can get one for front and rear. works the same as roadblock.

JUST REMEMBER TO TAKE THEM OFF BEFORE RIDING! HAHA!

Do you have a dedicated parking spot just for the bike?
If you do. Hammer drill a hole in the concrete and install a 1 1/2" hardened eye bolt about 12 inches long
use some Red Ball Epoxy. Then Kryptonite you bike to it every night, use a cover and your alarm and nobody will touch
it guaranteed. Too much time, noise and trouble.

Also the salesman will tell you....

Take it easy on turns for first few miles. Those brand new tires are slick as hell. Basically drive casual till you break in tires.

STRIFE - Good looking out on the first ride with the tires! The insurance, will be full coverage, Im now shopping for Insurance with best cost for coverage.
LUVANICEBUM - Now thats something to consider! Along with the Scorpion 1900 as MR. X mentioned and Lo-Jack..that should make it hard as hell to get take.

But with insurance if it does..

I promise to hit you guys up with pics when I finally roll out the showroom with it, then I can officially have a new set of brothers and sisters!

Any other riders in the MD VA DC area?

I thought I saw someone post what would be the new color schemes for the new 09's. I'll have to look again. I believe there was a light copper color part of the look...
