Shock

(BA BUSA @ Jan. 01 2007,21:32)
(Shibumi @ Jan. 01 2007,19:15)
(Wag @ Jan. 01 2007,18:59) Since I have the bike apart, I'm going to have the shock rebuilt as well. Having just done the front, the rear is not performing well enough to keep up. Gotta get it into submission! Just have to decide which brand of stuff to put in it. For now, I'm thinking go with the RaceTech stuff again.

Any suggestions? I'm pulling it now and will drive it to the shop tomorrow.

--Wag--
Would it make sense to use the same brand/technology in back as in front?

In other words, would matching components work better together than mixing brands?
He is using the same shop that did the forks...I would expect the they use the same brand componets

I haven't decided if you're purposefully obtuse or involuntarily oblivious, but I'm leaning towards the former...

If you read the post-

"Just have to decide which brand of stuff to put in it. For now, I'm thinking go with the RaceTech stuff again.

Any suggestions? I'm pulling it now and will drive it to the shop tomorrow."

--Wag--

P.S.- With all the time you've been around, you might try making a positive contribution to threads rather than spending such a large proportion of your time attempting to point out negatives.

Dude, what was THAT all about?

I understood exactly what Rich was talking about because it was all referenced in the thread above.

Not to mention, biting someone's head off if you don't understand them is not really an effective way to gain the understanding which may be missing.

I should know. I've done it plenty of times myself!

Regardless, if something's unclear, let me know, I'll be happy to explain it in greater detail.

You might want to reread the thread Bro...Wag is one of my riding buddies. We talk all the time, I think I know
his riding style and what has been done to his bike better than anyone on the board other than Wag himself.

I suppose it could be that you and I discussed some detail on the phone that didn't make it into the thread. I'm not really that interested in my own thread enough to go back and try to figure it out, though!

Maybe I missed something in some other threads...

are personal attacks against BA BUSA.

What are you trying to start

That wasn't an attack, but a response.

I asked a sincere question based on Wag's original post, and rather than answer BA chose to laugh at it. This is getting to be a normal thing for him based on several threads I have read recently. Others have noticed this as well.

Also this is after we had words in a post a couple of days ago in which he was basically being an azz, I understand he did have the grace to later apologize to the author of the post for trashing his thread but not to anyone else who posted in it.

So my post in reference to him was a response to not just this post but in the context of the previous post where he was obviously out of line.

I make it a habit to treat others with respect and try to be positive in my dealings with people. I do not respect people who try to belittle others or try to make others look bad just for entertainment value, and I will not tolerate it when it is directed towards me.

Frankly, I didn't see anything belittling and I'm not sure to what you were responding.

I'm confused.

--Wag--

If is the thread that you feel BA BUSA should apologize to you for, I have to dissagree with you. He didn't know that the MNG was in Arkansas or wherever and was simply trying to get a bigger hayabusa.org get together.

In that thread and this one, you starting throwing the insults, not him.

Anyone who has been on the board for more than a year has seen Rich demonstrate his generosity to the board and others over and over.

Maybe you should find out what kind a guy he really is before insulting him...

Shibumi- Effortless perfection.[/Quote]

Maybe THIS is the problem....

Maybe you don't realize that Wag is a good friend of ours, used to live near us and his wife and I are friends and she rides too.

Maybe you also don't realize BA BUSA stays at our house when he comes to town, rides with us, and drove down from the bay area to help me pick up my husbands suprise Christmas present...his new bike.

Maybe you also don't realize that all of us have known eachother and spent time together for the last 3 years or better.

But I can assume you DO know that none of us know you!

Shibumi- This is the second time that I've witnessed you completely out of line on a thread with comments directed at BA. Chill out dude. Your public comments are completely out of line.

Remember, that this is a message forum don't take a little smiley face (emoticon) personally!!!

I think I see what the hell Shibumi is pissing about: Rich used a smiley in his reply. Is that what it is?

Not to mention, Rich was pretty much speculating about what I was going to do. An educated guess. It's a technique that works pretty well when you have experience in the real world and works even better when you're familiar with the people involved. Pretty cool, eh?!

Rich happened to be right. Sorry you got your feathers ruffled by a smilie, Shibumi. You seem a little stressed. Maybe you need some time in a hot tub with a cigar and a bottle of scotch.

Just a thought!

I removed the word "the" and added the word "would"...also removed 1 "smile" emoticon. I surely would not want to offend anyone.

Wow. So, what kind of components are going into the rear shock? Think they'll be Racetech parts, heavier spring, thicker oil, gold valves???

p.s. Shibumi, perosnally if I noticed someone being a prick (or it were my perception of them being so) then I'd take the time to pm them, rather than be an arse and pull it out on the public side of someone else's thread. Good job on your sense of tact!

Charlie

Actually, it IS going to be Race Tech again. The fronts came out very nice so I have no reason to think that the rear will be anything less than excellent by using the same product.

Of course, I'll let everyone know. Should be about a week from today if there is no more snow. Cross your fingers!
