ok. so I have not been so "legal" for the last 6 years, but I have been safe and a good rider.  So, now I have a busa- love it!  Went down to take my skills test and in my eyes, they are on glue.  24ft to make a rt handed uturn- no feet- in the lines.  Also, the cones. 3 ft offset, about 7 feet apart, no feet.
Has anyone done this?  If so , I will keep practicing and try again, if not, I will find a 600  and just get it done with.
Urghhhh

Check on taking the MSF course...it will get you your endorsement and some insurance companies
give discounts on their rates

+1, and alot of the offer the use of a 250 of some sort..

***edit*** just wanted to note what a cool number 6969 (this post) is...

I can do it now. Couldn't do it when I got the Busa, though. Took the MSF course and the Dept of Motor Vehicles took that and waived the test.

--Wag--

Do it on a small bike because it will take you a long time to master those maneuvers on the Busa. Or like everybody else said, go to MSF.

+1, nuff said. And they will teach u the basic's, and U might learn something even if youve been riding 20+ years.

Dude, you suck! I did it on my Busa with a dark tinted visor on my helmet and a midget on my backseat holding my left hand behind my back. On top of that, my feet never touched the ground ... not even when I came to a full stop!

I would have given you some actual advice, but I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. Good luck!

That sux,I got mine when I was about 22 and all I had to do was a couple circles and figure 8's...
Course I did it on an 883 sporty gurls bike!!

Yeah, you can do it with a little practice. I did it on an 8ft long VTX. At first I thought, no way, but after a little practice time, no prob. The trick on the cones is to look at a point past the cones, not at them. Good luck, and welcome.

+1 I took it on a Vulcan 1500 in San Clemente, CA. It can be done just a little practice is all.

just ask out the girl behind the counter at the DMV...she can just put you in for a renewal instead of a new license...at least they could do that back in the mid-80's...lol, i've had my license for 22 years and have never taken a test...gotta love cute girls

The driving test is much much easier on a small cruiser ! I passed it on the first try back in 1986 on a 250 Honda Rebel .

It can be done with a little practice. When I showed up at the road test with my 83 GPZ 1100, the instructor asked "U taking a test in that?!!"......Yes Sir, I replied. They handed me the midget and I passed....barely!

Wow, my DMV is boring. No midgets or cute girls. I'll check into the Safety course and try to get some extra riding in. Darn.

Thanks for the quick responses.

Get something smaller and practice, it's all clutch control and looking where you want to go ! Practice, Practice, Practice and you can do it not only on a Busa, but a Goldwing

I believe SC s test is tighter. I feel a lot better about doing mine now that I've put 5K on the Busa. Need to go practice, I still have 10 months. Gravel covered, pot holed, cracked POS test area local. Good Luck man
