WHAT THE HECK DID YOU LEARN IN SHOOL!!!!I MUsTA MISSED SOMETHING.you have some heavy things there more power to ya.
School of "My daddy is a marine, and he'll kick my ass if I don't amount to something." High school education here......there is a lot to be said for getting up every day and giving 100 percent to your employer, every day. This is by no means a slam on higher education, but the current generation of "I'm owed an income because I went to college for 4 years" bunch pisses me off. Haven't found one yet with a work ethic worth more than the paper his degree is printed on. I know they may be out there....and I anyone knows one send 'em my way, but until then I'll hire based on drive and work ethic......Sorry if I'm ranting, but I had a rough day with my HR lady today, because of this exact subject!
3 yrs of college 7 of university
now i am mecanical engineer
4 yrs ago got my first job in nyc w/o having to show my diploma!
I was like: I could have applied for the job 7 yrs before and manage to learn on the job.
But still all the basic concept of enginnering are still very usefull.
Anyway, I started at the bottom of the ladder.
But 90% of the knowledge I use at work comes from experience.
I worked like a horse, 6-7 days a week and 12-15 hrs a day.
Since i charge by the hour, I almost double my salary.
I would say that people who thinks that they deserve the job and the salary because they have a degree usually studied in management, maketing...business. I can say that because most of my friend from highschool went that way. I went the engineering way. It does not may as much but this is what I wanted to do.
Today I make more without doing overtime than I did when I started working 90 hrs/week. I earned it and I'm proud of it.
