STALEMATE

Omega, I hate to be the one telling you this but you are suffering from a bad case of moto-schizophrenia. Your state of busa/blackbird/ninja12 confusion and indecision are clear symptoms of the disease.
Here is what doctors recommend:
- sell the blackbird immediately even if you have to take a big loss.
- give up motorcycles (and thinking about them) for at least one year.
- Take up an unrelated hobby. The hobby most recommended for curing moto-schizophenia is raising African Violets. A good place to start is www.african-violets.com

Take care of yourself.

Thats the biggest asset the bike holds for me as well. I'll see you back at the terrordome.

Dirty Pete, it is time to find OMEGA a new post to fill at our beloved HAYABUSALAND.

He is the first and only to jump ship off a 99, purchase a competitor, loose the XX and buy a 2000.

Suzuki should pay him $ for the true story, this has better hype potential than any RG 1/4 mile times from team green.

WELCOME BACK OMEGA !!!

If you can find a Busa in Blue you probably need to purchase it, We are already out for the year and have only (2) red ones left. With all the hype around the Busa's and ZX-12's it is hard to get a great trade on a Blackbird, as a matter of fact we turned back the last Blackbird trade deal all together @ Team Charlotte. If you don't like the figures let them sell it on consignment.

No need to grab the flack vest and E-tool. You will get no ill will from me. I saw you anguishing over your choice and you have to ride what suits you best. Like I have said many times I have no brand loyalty I have owned many motorcycles and I don’t swear allegiance to any manufacturer. I am going to wait and see how the 12 does then make my decision as to what I am buying next. Until the 12 is released and tested I do not go to bike shops because there are too many great bikes out there.

Dumbass Vagass

Call my “babysitterâ€￾ and directing the F word at me huh? Did they set you out in sun too long and your brain housing group overheated? You want to trade insults? Let’s go half-wit!

NinjaKnight that was IF you gave Omega any flack.......but since you didnt you must be an ok dude.........so Im ok with it. Nothing personal.........I really dont know your babysitter..................lol

Roberto, I hope you don't think that I insulted you. And if you need a goat I got'em, any way you want'em :)

No need to expound if you've seen it unfold. I'll have the parts here this week so by next weekend I should have a dyno run up.
I'm taking the same position on the 12, I want to dissect and tabulate every last bit of data on it and more importantly watch every head to head test against the 1300.
One things for certain, the aftermarket commitment to this bike is overwhelming.

Omega--Congrats!!
I am just as excited this year about my Busa as last year. As you know I seriously considered the ZX12R, but fell back to the Busa with a "Modified" outlook for 2000.
YES THE AFTERMARKET is in full bloom for the Busa.(just wish spring was)
Let the 12R go through the trials, tests, recalls?, etc. for a little while. In the meantime--Wheels, clutch mods, triple clamps, Pilots, colored dials, pegs, etc. will further define this unique bike on the street. And, oh yes, on the street it is noticed more than any other bike I have been on. A nice bonus to go along with the performance.
Dirty Pete's "peaceful velocity or speed"/ effortless acceleration at practically any rpm is the bikes number one endearing trait.
Enjoy.
Bob

viol8r,

No insult at all, I just happened to see your profile and it had goats, then I remembered this guy that use to say "don't let em get your goat" I think what he meant was don't let them get to you.
I would love to have a goat here in Miami but with all these VODOO guys that are here they would probably steal it. :) Thanks for the offer anyway.

Ride Safe, Bob

The rise of the after market parts market for the Busa really has been incredible. When you figure that the general public has not even had the bike a full year and what is available already it is really amazing. I can’t figure out if it is the economy, e-commerce or the current popularity of the sport. Probably a combination of all three.

I think that you are making the right decision for the right reasons. Besides the whole motorcycle arms race is moot nowadays with the new Turbo systems. Even if the 12 beats 200mph stock any Busa owner with 4k can beat it with a turbo. We are officially part of a sport that is out of control……..a dangerous, irrational, irresponsible bunch of adolescent infants who want to own street motorcycles that go over 200mph……..Isn’t it great?!!! Hahahahah

omega, you made the right choice. I knew if you were losing sleep over the bike, like I did that you were going to get it..........................

Omega, I read this post a little late. Basically you had a great deal (I am a XX convert too, but mine was a '98). There still are a few '98 XX's unsold at dealers, and the hell of a lot of '99's, and no dealer I know is ordering '00's, because there are no differences other than color; You could get a brand new one for what you traded yours. It has its quirks as any other bike because there is no perfect bike, as much as I wanted the busa to be. Aftermarket to the rescue!!

OMEGA

I'm so glad you came to your senses. I was looking forward to riding with you when I return to Miami. I sure would have felt bad having to look back in my rear veiw mirror looking for your DOS EXIS. :)

Welcome back!

I'm just bracing myself for when ninjaknight gets a hold of this. I'll need bunker gear.

F.u.c.k. him.................if he gives you any s.h.i.t i'll tell his babysitter!

Roberto, I want to say the same thing to all the guy's that have decided to get a busa instead of another, or to the guy's that are getting a different bike. When are you going to come to your senses? Jeesh!
