Street/strip gen 1

Hey guys wanna put together a nice gen 1 street/strip combo that could be capable of like 5.7-80s and still be ridden on 300 miles one way trips. What would u do?
1.81mm high compression( looking at wossners 13.5:1) w/ 378 intake and intake on exhaust
2. 1397 with 2 intake cams(already have)
I know head would help either allot but don't wanna send it out at the moment. Just want something that I can ride om the street and run about 5.70s to 5.80s without nitrous

That's a big ask.....ultra high performance and day to day reliability hasn't normally been in the same sentence...

My bad...I was thinking 1/4 mile....
That's way too fast 1/4 mile for me lol. I probably should've put 1/8 mile. Not don't have full leathers to go to the 1/4 mile track.
How many feet is that? Do you even get out of 2nd gear?
660 feet. With a 45 tooth sprocket and 17 front. Can rev out 3rd but shift into 4th

leave it and add a 60 shot
with a progressive
That's what I'm thinking but would it have to be a wet shot since the factory ecu cant add fuel progressively just all or nothing. My dad is building a 1476 and im trying to have enough to keep up with him without spraying it too much.
Save your money and turbo.
If I had a gen 2 i would since u can do allot through the factory ecu.

It can be tuned no problem for a turbo, either through ecu or PC5 a big bore kit is more money and some say you lose drivability.
I know it can be tuned. By you'd have to buy a external controller for boost by gear. I've been looking into converting to gen 2 electronics for either one that way I can do progressive nitrous or boost control through factory ecu. But I'm still a little unsure if it can be done with the gen 1 head.
Idk about the more money (wossner block 950, pistons 575, cam with adjustable sprockets 700, valve springs 150) around 2500 or so with bearings. And its something I'd feel comfortable tuning. Turbo kits starts at 2000 for the cheap one3 one and 1500 for air to water intercooler that's already 4000 and I'd have to have somebody else tune it.

Turbo to go quick add some kind of boost control
for drag racing you could ditch the liquid to air for the level boost you would be running to run that
If you are worried about it, either race gas at the track or you could do Meth injection
Boost control and meth kit adds another 500-1000 depending on what u get and still would need to be tuned by someone else. I know me though I'd need the air to water intercooler or at least meth for trips on the toll road.
for us ignorant
bout what is a 5.70 work out to in the 1/4
Like 8.8-9.0
seriously easiest way to go is a wet kit with a 60 shot and a progressive
Yea but I wouldn't have enough to run with my dad he should be around 5.40-50s on motor that's why I'm considering either the big bore kit Or high compression and a nice intake cam

Dad could just throw in bigger jets
I originaly had a NOS 3008 kit in my air box with all long stacks
I could change jets in 15 minutes

you run a 40-50 shot
Dad runs a 60-80
He says he doesn't plan on spraying it since its 85mm bore but I know he's keeping the 50 shot on for that just in case situation and not going to add more.
So I'd need to spray Like 100 shot on a stock motor to hang with him or st least 75. I'd need good rods spraying that much I think.
