yes guys who race are more inclined to seek the adrenaline rush more often. So yes I would say they are more inclined to do dumb things. Many resorted to the track as a last resort AFTER losing or almost losing their right to drive.
I guess I'm an exception.
I have always loved racing. Anything from foot racing, to video games, to bicycles. Now as an adult it turned into cars and of course my motorcycle. I learned to ride on a 250cc dirtbike and used it to race against my brother's 125cc shifter kart. I had a 100cc kart of my own which I used against a Yamaha Banshee. The F4 Honda I had I raced against a 2000 R6. My Busa has faced a K6, a ZX-10, and a ZX-9. I also have a couple of top speed runs on the highway under my belt.
All that was done on local highways of course.
Now since going to the track last year May (a place I have only raced at 3 times) I can honestly say I haven't raced a single person on the street. I can also honestly say I have not gone into triple digits more than 3 times in the past year and have gone above 130 only once.
Although the crave of speed is always with me, I KNOW there is a better place for it. I remember making my first pass at the strip and after getting my slip and seeing 11x mph (1/8th) thinking how relaxing it was to do that without having to worry about tickets or cagers cutting me off. THOSE are my main 2 reasons for checking myself on public roads.
In this thread I explain how bad I want to race a particular person but also emphasise that I want to keep it on the track:

In that post I clearly state:
By this time I had grown out of street racing and told him to meet me at my local track.
I have gotten 2 tickets in the 3 years I've had my Busa. One for running a red light and the other for improper towing. I received both of those tickets while driving my truck and none had to do with speeding. I have never gotten a ticket while on the bike. I'm just mentioning that to show that the right to drive thing doesn't have anything to do with it (at least not with me).
Its almost how I feel about sparring. I live going to my old dojo and sparring against the up-n-coming students. But I'd never hit the streets and pick a fight with someone. As much as I love to compete and test my abilities, I know there is a place for everything.
The public roads are no place for stunting or racing. I have found my safe haven for racing and will only do it there. I think a spot for stunters would do more good than harm.
Now don't get me wrong, I understand where you're coming from. Just like entertainers say they turn to drugs to get the same rush they once got while performing on stage. I'm just saying stunters (like races) should at least be given an option.
