Synch Throttle bodies on '03 Busa

Glad everything worked out for ya Wag! I never have made it all the way to California yet, but I get to Vegas at least once a year to see my sister. Might have to load up the busa next time & pop over for a visit..

Couldn't have done it without your input.

And yeah, hook up that trailer and let's go for one of our famous So CA rides! Vegas is only 30 minutes away as the Busa flies.

... I think I'll set up an appointment so I could hook up that "thingamabob doohickey" to my throttle bodies

... so pretty much the only time consuming event is removing the obstructions and figuring out what goes were, right Lou?
Exactly. Understanding the directions is the biggest pain in the ass. Let's video tape it when we do yours.

Send a big ol' thanks to BusainSD, too. He deserves all the credit, bro!

See ya after the T-day holiday.

In the interest of keeping some other poor schlepp like me from having to endure a crappy manual for the California 2003, I wrote all of that above.
Thanks wag for the detailed discription you posted up cause I'm that schlepp you speak of with an 04 cali model

Good reading

Glad you got it worked out.

I'm going to be doing this for my "first time" on my track back this winter, so the pointers really helped. Thanks

Man, this should get a "Sticky-Post" - Great Info! Wag, think you can let us know what tools you used (special sync gauges) and where a guy can purchase the tools online. Never seen a gauge like the one you used at WallMart or the Local Auto Supply store.

Got the guage from my local Suzuki dealer who claimed it's what they use in their shop. It's the Motion Pro Deluxe Carb Tuner (about halfway down this page: Synch Tools, Etc.

If I had to do it over again, however, I'd use something that was not mercury-based.

hey, for all us cheapskates out there....

$4 Carburetor Synchronizer

article talks about using tubing and heavy
fluids to build a differential manometer for carb syncing.

http://www.airheads.org/content/view/183/78/
also:
http://www.powerchutes.com/manometer.asp

these were meant for sync'n twins --
i'm not sure i'd wanna use it for 4-throttle-bodies, but then again,
you can do them pairwise, but you can't
disconnect one side without disconnecting
the other...

then again, all you'd need was a few plastic connectors. colored
clear tubing would make it easier to use. and the idea of filling it
with two cycle oil seems good in case the oil sucked up.

its not that i wanna keep anybody from buying another $100
tool -- damn, i have enough of them already -- but if a friend
BREAKs his one, i'm not gonna give a ____. and the idea of
NOT having mercury around seems pretty appealing.

Sounds like a good idea. Oil seems a little too "sticky" (adhesion is too high) to effectively make this work exceptionally well. The ATF fluid I might buy.

If you can make it work, however, good on ya! I'm just not that inventive!

Guys don't go buy the manual we have one you can download here on the site and it is the Suzuki service manual. Also you can build your own gauge sync tool wtih dial gauges, and they work better and you don't have to worry about the mercury getting into the engine. Somebody makes one also it's just expensive. the only thing you have to do special is make a way to regulate the vaccuum down so the needles will not bounce real bad and when I sync my TB's I always install the airbox and everything back together that way it idles the wy it is supposed to and you don't have to turn the throttle open so far. I always set mine at around 3000 and it holds steady right at 3000.

For the manual go here

This is probably one of the easiest to follow DIY Throttle Body Snyc tutorial I've read so far with complete details from start to finish.

Good Deal, Wag !
