Ten innocents dead

And after 20 shooting incidents with 25 victims with four dead and no arrests, Chicago had another wild weekend. Try buying a gun or ammo anytime soon. The demand won’t meet the supply. I went to Chicago in the 90s, saw a movie being shot on a street corner, took in a lake cruise, went to a blues club and visited a great museum. Never heard a gunshot.

Gun violence in on the rise it seems....I wonder how many of these shootings are done by legal gun owners?

Colorado is a CCW state....I guess the patrons were not armed. Kind of shows having CCW or open carry isn't much of a deterrent for shootings to happen.

Here in Canada the government imposed a ban on 1500 weapons and allowed the municipalities to control handgun controls....and that's with any shootings being done will illegal weapons.

I read there will be more in depth back ground checks for people in some states to get a gun....not sure how effective that will be to quell all the shootings...

Good luck with background checks having any effect.

I know a guy who sold a gun to another guy, by exchanging a check for a gun with the entire transaction taking place in his mailbox out in the front yard. The guy who wrote the check was actually a cop, known well to the other guy. The seller purchased the gun cash at a gun show, so there was no means of tracing the transaction back to either of the guys.

LOL, that may sound a bit confusing, but long story short is no-one needs a background check or anything in acquiring a firearm, there are simply too many loose ends.

Then there are those who go ballistic should anyone even think of infringing on their second amendment rights.

Good on them for standing up for their second amendment! I would to if I was American.

I’m pro guns, but I have mixed feelings , I may get a CCW permit. At least I would have a fighting chance. I’m not a hunter, I just like guns. How do you stop the crazy?

You can't stop the crazy, it has gone too far.

I'm pro gun as well, I have been around and used weapons ever since I could hold one so it is a sad day here in Canada when so many types of guns were banned outright. That being said, there are still a whole lot of guns out there in people's hands as the government didn't quite think this whole thing out.

I've never really go the whole thing why a citizen needs a belt fed machine gun or a 40mm grenade launcher though.

This guy Cruz who's yapping about guns and such just had holes punched in this theory as Colorado is a CCW state yet 10 people got killed and other wounded yet nobody carrying a gun shot the suspect.

Wish canada pulled an American when we were first formed and booted the red coats out.... look how well the UK is doing with their strict gun laws. I bet the goverment of Canada has never feared their citizens, American government should fear their citizens just like every government would stop alot of corruption.

Every state allows CCW permits and except for Denver county all others allow open carry. Were any people inside the store armed? And Cruz is an idiot BTW.

You are a very lucky person to get to live in a country like Canada...remember that.

Out of all those people, somebody must have been armed....

...and yes, I know.....I wasn't posting his video because I am a fan, just pointing out his ideology is flawed.

Oh don't get me wrong I love this country and America, but we would have been better off without are strict ties to the UK and Europe. Either way sad that it happened the guy should be tortured and killed, might prevent some more wack jobs from doing the the same.

I don't know, how Canada was formed as a country is pretty unique and special.

Take the UK way of life, mix it with the French way and the many Indigenous ways and mix them altogether and you get a pretty cool mix. A mix which has and is the envy of many other countries.

If you look closely at the US, they retain traditions and values brought by Europe and the UK but they followed a very different path than we did.

When I was visiting other countries on the military plan, I was certainly glad to get back home and away from the crap going on there....

A problem other than sick people bent on killing the innocent is the number of people who operate in the white . Unaware of surroundings , people , oblivious to signs of trouble . I've often picked out a innocent person in public , and let them know what could of just happened . Their shock , and then relief expressions are something to view .

I'd say generally as a rule the majority of people operate in that state and are oblivious of their surroundings...it's not healthy to live in a constant state of heightened awareness.

Covid really awoken my eyes to how amazing the US and Republican ran states operate (not perfect if course). That is the closest to a "free country" in today's modern world, look at Australia and the UK with there draconian laws to keep healthy people in lockdowns. Lucky I live in sask which is very conservative and we have had minimal goeverment influence for covid now the same can't be said for Quebec, BC and Ontario. Either way we are getting off of topic and thread jacking, it's a sad case but second amendment should not be infringed.

Kind of off topic and kind of on topic....this person being able to walk into a grocery store and open fire on people innocently going about their daily lives is exactly what we are talking about...

We live in a country where this sort of thing is very rare, whereas this sort of thing happens in the US quite often-why is that I wonder?

And as far as the governmental influence on Saskatchewan goes, there is quite a population difference at work here...some regions in the GTA have larger populations than the province of Saskatchewan and they live much closer together.
