Ten innocents dead

It isn't ludicrous. Guns do kill people, people just tell them to do it. A gun is a force multiplier. A weak punk can now kill 10 people. Use a car correctly and it gets you from A to B. Use a gun correctly somebody or something dies. I don't want to give up my guns but all of these cliches and pop logic defenses of guns aren't going to do anything but get an ovation at your local NRA meeting.

Wearing an open weapon in public is stupid tactically. You give up the right to engage a situation on your terms, to your advantage. Wearing a gun openly is an effort to intimidate, it is not a defensive act. It's like the superhero paradigm: Do superheroes protect us from bad actors, or do they invite more bad actors? Showing up to a political protest geared up like you are going to assault a little village in Afganistan is an offensive act. It should not be legal to use guns to intimidate the public or elected officials, everyone knows this is wrong.

If we never saw guns and weak punks weren't using them to butcher innocent people, even children, there would not be a conversation about them. You want to carry a gun do it quietly, concealed. You want to shoot it as a hobby go to a range. While it's silly to say guns don't kill people, it is right on target to say the problem with guns is the gun owner.
Hi I think all we have to do is send the Army in every house to take them, and to make sure every one has a mask on!

I don't know I think open carrying a long rifle would stop alot of mass shootings... not all but alot, I think alot of the mass shooters are scared weak men hiding behind a gun but when their are other people clearly carrying it would deter alot of cowards (especially in schools), guns are also woven into the fabric of America as much as baseball. To take away those rights and infringe on them isn't why people flee to America in the first, I always hold America on a pedestal of the closest to free country to live in.

My moms husband moved here from Switzerland and they use to have gun ranges in every town and literally have coat checks for your rifle at bars and restraunts yet isn't Switzerland in the top ten safest countries? Guns aren't the issue ever! Mental health is always 100% the issue.

My grandma with an AK would be pretty badass. Hopefully her eye sight is good enough though!
Hi. There is a town some where in the us that has a lot of people that carry guns. And guess what the crime rate is very low. A town in Texas someone tried to rob a store with a gun and he was shot by every one that was in the store. In DC was officer was killed when a fan of Louis Farrakhan and the nation of Islam rammed his car into them. So it is very easy to kill with a car. His name is Noah Green and was killed when he jumped out of the crashed car with a knife. Was that a terror attack?????????????????/

Hi. Now the other side. They just shot him in cold blood. they should of had a social worker there to run up to him and calm him down not just shoot him. There was no need to shoot him.

You guys, Haha. Just put fines on them. Take it through the IRS. No confrontation or anything. After a few thousand dollars disappear from people's bank accounts those guns will start piling in. Nice and easy.

Make gun insurance mandatory with serious sanctions for violations. Proper gun owners shouldn’t suffer any violations. We have to insurance our cars and bikes don’t we? And they’re not even guaranteed by the constitution! If you’re not insurable.....

but we should start paying to exercise our Second Amendment rights which are guaranteed by the Constitution. Your rights as an American our taken away unless you pay insurance for them, kinda a pay as you go plan. Maybe we could tax guns a lot more too while we're at it. The criminals would hate that.

What insurance plan do you have on yours? I’m sure you are leading by example.
You are correct driving a car is a privilege not a right.

The second amendment does allow localities to regulate guns, just not outright prohibit them (that's according to recent SC rulings). Just like anything else, why shouldn't you be personally responsible for the rights you exercise? If you are an NRA member you already have insurance for legal expenses resulting from a shooting. So we have insurance for the shooter and not the person they shoot?

We mandate insurance on cars so when some broke drunk driver kills you, your family has a remedy. Why not have insurance so when a family loses their breadwinner because you hear voices in your head they have a remedy?

So gun registration. So all the legal gun owners pay fines or become criminals?
Exactly, that's one option. They can also give the gun up. Sounds crazy right? Well, gun owners are saying if a gun owner wacks out and shoots your kid at school tough kaka. Suck it up bro and move on. That's really, really silly.

An automatic assault rifle? Have you ever seen a fully automatic gun or used one? he used a AR-556 which is semi auto... your ignorance is amazing it's people like you who scream for more laws from a useless government! But I could go pick up a mini 14 off the shelf and you would say oh that just a hunting rifle when it has the exact same capabilities as a AR-556... all I would have to do is cut it down...
Michael’s comment generalized the idea of gun control to include all weapons in an attempt to make it look silly. I’m talking about banning automatic weapons, not the specific weapon used in the latest shooting. You probably don’t agree but it doesn’t make either stance ignorant.

Hi. Am automatic weapon has not been used in a crime in 70 or 80 years. So if we have more than LETHAL weapon should we PAY for a permit for each one? Or have insurance on each one?

Hi. So Mythos I guess that you think that criminals will NOT pay taxes on them?

There are countries around the world which do this very thing...they are mostly failed states though and a fire fight can break out at the drop of a hat...placing more guns into more hands of which are probably either too inexperienced or incompetent to have them is not the answer.

Sadly there is no answer. Taking guns away won't work, limiting or requiring gun registry won't work, more background checks or wait times to get a gun won't work, more courses won't work...guns will still get into the hands of those who want to use them to do harm.

Having guns and needing to use them as a population is not freedom...NOT needing guns and NOT having to use them is...

This sediment is coming from a person who has seen the dark side of humanity and what it can do...more guns is not the answer.
