I'm hoping to make my first pass in the spring. I made it there on Saturday just after the Lamborghini had wrecked and they were finished cleaning it up. I'll post pics up that I took when I get some time.

The two videos I took, sorry about the quality and confusion. I have a lot of photos also, his just didn't turn out this great... :beerchug:

That's awesome, lets see some more pics, videos, everything, comments. I missed out this run but will definately be shooting for next March. Josh (Got Busa) said the wind was a killer this event unfortunately. Congrats Doug on first time out, you hooked yet?? I'll be looking forward to my 2nd time out! :beerchug:

Thanks guys. And thanks Josh for posting those pics of me and others.

The TX mi was awesome! I loved it. Very well run. I can't wait for March. Might not wait...I have access to a 7000 ft runway near Hutchinson KS 40 mi from Wichita. Its not as smooth but still might be good practice/fun. I might talk to the owner about possible future lsr events there.

Josh if you have any pull with the TX mile staff one thing that would have been helpful was an extra 6-8 feet of height on the speed display sign. Especially Saturday with the crowd at the starting line it was very hard to see.

Felt so good to open the bike up, full throttle, no worries about license (cops)or other vehicles. Very cool. Very fun.

I enjoyed seeing the cars too, especially the exotics.

And of course the people were awesome too. Everybody was so nice, and we all had one thing in common: SPEED!!!

Yes indeed! These were my first ever burnouts and they helped a lot. Significant tire slippage in first run before them...

Glad you went to run~!~

At Maxton they do not allow burn outs, and usually it takes a lot of throttle control to keep from blowing smoke off the tire...

Whoa. Just had a thought. If exhaust could be pointed at rear tire on stand, could one warm tire that way?!

Why not? For an organization that's all about safety they sure do some goofy stuff... ???

I gotta tell ya its awesome having you at the LSR events, a busa owner coming back to tell the story...

Keep it up..

got for safety reasons they don't allow burn outs. The line of vehicles is to close to the start line. If someone does a burnout they could kick up stuff that might hit others.

There isn't room on the taxiway to do a burnout? Otherwise they are lining people up right behind someone making a run? Couldn't that kick up a rock just the same... ???

you're probably about 50ft from the start line. Yes if someone spun off the line it could still kick things up but very few bikes spin off the line so the risk is less. Personaly my fear would be that if you allowed it then just about everyone would do it regardless of the need and would just over spin the tire anyhow. Not everyone knows how to do a good burnout vs a wasted burnout.

Yes, David....I'm sorry I was going to add that and didn't...

Hey David, you running an airshifter? You foot shifting Doug, if so are you using the clutch? Just trying to go by sound in the videos. If I can gather the funds between now and March I would like to get an airshifter myself. Thanks for recording Josh, in my opinion there isn't enough recording going on when it comes to the bikes at the mile. You get 25 videos of cars running to every 1 or 2 vids of bikes it seems like. My Dad likes playing with the camcorder some and I plan on showing him how to use mine alot better by next March so we can get some videos of many different bikes running. I enjoy watching the bikes run more than anything and can't wait to see Bill's record setting video.

This was my first time to run the mile and I am addicted. A few minor rider and mechanical issues (soon to be cured). Josh it was nice to meet you at the track and you did a great job helping Doug whom as you mentioned did great. He and his wife are good people.
