Texas Mile first timers....POST UP!

Thanks guys. And thanks Josh for posting those pics of me and others.

The TX mi was awesome! I loved it. Very well run. I can't wait for March. Might not wait...I have access to a 7000 ft runway near Hutchinson KS 40 mi from Wichita. Its not as smooth but still might be good practice/fun. I might talk to the owner about possible future lsr events there.

Josh if you have any pull with the TX mile staff one thing that would have been helpful was an extra 6-8 feet of height on the speed display sign. Especially Saturday with the crowd at the starting line it was very hard to see.

Felt so good to open the bike up, full throttle, no worries about license (cops)or other vehicles. Very cool. Very fun.

I enjoyed seeing the cars too, especially the exotics.

And of course the people were awesome too. Everybody was so nice, and we all had one thing in common: SPEED!!!

was it just like I told you?

sorry I was a bit busy but get ready early next year I have a trick or two

This was my first time to run the mile and I am addicted. A few minor rider and mechanical issues (soon to be cured). Josh it was nice to meet you at the track and you did a great job helping Doug whom as you mentioned did great. He and his wife are good people.

I don't remember your name, which bike were you riding?

Hey David, you running an airshifter? You foot shifting Doug, if so are you using the clutch? Just trying to go by sound in the videos. If I can gather the funds between now and March I would like to get an airshifter myself. Thanks for recording Josh, in my opinion there isn't enough recording going on when it comes to the bikes at the mile. You get 25 videos of cars running to every 1 or 2 vids of bikes it seems like. My Dad likes playing with the camcorder some and I plan on showing him how to use mine alot better by next March so we can get some videos of many different bikes running. I enjoy watching the bikes run more than anything and can't wait to see Bill's record setting video.

Yes, footshifting. Clutch into 2nd and 3rd then clutchless.

Hey Johnny! Ya I appreciate your advice, thanks for it and thanks for checking in here. I will certainly be ready earlier for March. My determination which was sky high is now stratospheric.

My name is Brian. Sorry I did not identify myself earlier.

Doug you are right that is me. No problem for the kind words you deserved it. You made me jealous.

Doug I was asking my cousin the other day if he knew how to get a hold of you. I plan on making it again in March/october and want to make a trek to Maxton this summer also.

Definitely going back to the tx mi in March. Probably not Maxton anytime soon. The 1.5 mile run at Loring is tempting.

Now I remember...

It was nice chatting, wish we had more time but it always seems like the weekend goes quick. What did your fastest speed end up being?

It was nice meeting you also I am sure we will meet again. 186.4 all motor, couldn't get my stuff together. Only made four passes two Saturday afternoon, two Sunday before noon and had to go.

The weekend goes quick especially fighting the wind and trying to get a clean run. Before you know it Sunday has arrived and it's time to head home... :(

How much are the registration fees for the mile. I'm trying to figure out roughly what it will cost to enter and transport our bikes down there. I already have a rough estimate on the transportation part.

I couldn't findnthe entry fee list on the website.
