The Destruction of Los Angeles and Surrounding Areas

How does he know what the rest of America knows? Many of us lived there.

If he wishes to shrug off that it's believed homeless didn't set the fires, he's entitled to say so. His joke was a single homeless guy having a car and driving place to place setting fires. I don't believe that has ever been asserted by anyone that there was only one doing it. That's his attempt at humor. Or an attempt to try and lessen or help hide the reality of Ca being one of the most popular states for long term outdoor campers.
...I like him and I liked what he had to say.......

You're certainly entitled. I never found humor at the expense of others hardship, to be humor I enjoy.
The hardships of others we are experiencing today are the result of adults making poor decisions and now having to live with the decisions they have made.

I don't find them funny, and I don't think people should be punished for their decisions in life, BUT I do ask that they live with them and feel the full brunt of the results of them. Thus creating life lessons to promote good decisions, and penalize bad ones.

He's a comedian.....I certainly wouldn't want him to be stoic with a stiff upper lip being somber.......

If one isn't laughing, they are crying......laughing is far better.

He sure isn't wrong about all the "internet cowboys" out there.....they are everywhere....look at the other video I posted about fire trucks not being allowed in because they weren't smog compliant.....and those sorts of videos are all over the place.....

I like him, he makes me laugh......

CA has been a dumpster fire for a long time The West Coast as whole has become one. If people wish to tolerate that, they have every right.

My sister lived in first SF bay area, and when that turned, they went to Seattle. By the time she left there, it was as bad as SF was. Now she is in Austin. And starting to whine about that choice. She doesn't get it through her head, the best way to start a dumpster fire is keep repeating the same mistakes over and over.

Victoria and Vancouver in BC Canada the same way.......they look like "zombieland" after dark with teams going around armed with "Narcan" to bring people back to life....if they use it more than twice on someone, they call an ambulance to take them to a hospital....

Homelessness and drug use are the real pandemic that needs to be sorted out......and soon.....

There seems to be little focus on that by any North American government......our current government had safe injection sites where they would set up drugs for users so they at least used clean needles and were monitored......talk about a government funded drug den....

The new guy vows to shut them down and instead put more effort into rehab centers, drug councilors and outreach centers along with better drug enforcement and stiffer penalties for drug smugglers and dealers.......

Typical boomer right here...................................If they can't blame it on Trump, then it's nature doing what nature does sometimes.

If California was governed by a republican, they would be blaming trump for years of mismanagement and cuts.

While I think Trump is the biggest A$$hole in the world, I don't disagree with his common sense policies.

What Trump is referring to in the toilet flushing video is very low water pressure, and low water volumes which weren't fixed years ago because your savour Gavin decided that fish and wildlife are more important than those he serves.

Citizens across the US all pay their property taxes, and expect water when they turn on a tap, hydro when they plug something in or flip a light switch, and Gas/propane when they want to fire up a grill. They expect clean roads, low crime, safe neighbourhoods and hope for respectful neighbours. All of this falls at the governs feet, and Gavin has failed at every single level of it and should be held accountable for it in a criminal court.

We all know, if Trump or ANY republican behaved like this you boomers would be calling for their heads.
Why shouldn't we expect the same of democrat governors.

Typical hypocrite boomer......................nothing more here

Typical trump cult member. It is never trumps fault for anything, no matter what. You remind me of little tommy here. He says that he very much dislikes trump, but his words say another thing completely when it comes time to size up trump.

And FYI, the vast majority of Californians enjoy clean roads, reasonable low crime, save neighborhoods and respectful neighbors. At least on the level of most other places that have millions of people living there.

For the most part, trump only has one policy. Lie about every single thing and then blame others when things don't go his way. I'm still waiting for Mexico to pay for the wall.

How many times to you have to flush your toilet? Once generally works fine for me. If you have to flush it 10 or 15 times, I'd suggest getting some fiber in your diet.

Maybe once you become an adult, you will understand things better.

Some of these Tards try to establish a beach head here. They move here and become SJWs trying to fix what they feel is wrong. One of their favorites is homeless. We have pretty much ZERO homeless here. They were never tolerated. Then these dipchyts move here and start Facebook pages to help anything they see that looks needy. Bring them X to feed them. Or Y to keep them warm. They go to city counsel meeting trying to assert the "rights" of the homeless. And then guess what, now we have a homeless problem to solve. So we get new ordnances written. No cars will be parked for more than 24 hours. And sleeping in cars is forbifdden. Etc. Now we can't find benches to sit on because the city removes them so that homeless have no place to sleep. Etc. The Tards biotch about how horrible we are. And try and start private ways to help them. The city blocks that. No business licenses issued etc. One dipchyt thought he would be brilliant and get a legal business and help them through the back door. So he applied for and GOT a license to open a Tattoo parlor. The only space he could find that would lease to him was an alley and was about the highest rent rates in town. They made him sign a 5 year lease. Within a month he was pleading for people to come get tattoos. He closed up shop in a year. Went Bankrupt. Last we ever heard from him.

We have a nice city park. The Tards moved here and ignored all the signs that said Please don't feed the wildlife. Because of this we had a freaking armada of Canadian Geese and Swans and ducks from half the nation picking us as their new home. Now we can't use the park because we have chyt on the ground, on the picnic tables, on the benches. Polluting the water we swim in. And the city counsel now has to have meetings over cleaning up all the Chyt the waterfowl are bringing us. And as they vote to have then removed......Guess who shows up in force to yell. YEP the same people that attracted them. Demanding now that they must be removed humanely and want to establish committes and overseers to make sure of it.

So quietly, with no fanfare, phonecalls gets made and request are made, to eliminate them at night, in small numbers, with air rifles, after hours where nobody can prove a thing. A few at a time so you don't notice. And months later the problem is solved. And these dipchyts learn to either STFU or move somewhere else. And peace gets restored before another community becomes a dumpster fire.

5th largest economy in the world, can't keep water in a fire hydrant.

I lived there in the 80s. California's population growth then was nearly 25% of the national population growth. It was a wondrous place to live!!Everyone had a job, a home, a great attitude. I bought my 1st home there. With Jimmy Carter interest rates on my mortgage. I was certain I had lost my mind! But it was not only beautiful, it was clean and everything worked like it was supposed to. We always had water in our hydrants. I left in 88. You could feel the political winds shifting. The rest is pretty easy history to follow.

This could be said about a lot of places......

Society has changed so much since 1988 that most places are no longer recognizable and in most cases it doesn't matter what political ideology is in office....change has still occurred.....

I recall lots of places which were stellar in '88 that are almost not even close to what they once were.

A sign of the times unfortunately.

Soon we will have a few families own 99% of the assets in the USA. That should solve all of our problems. "Get off of my property" will become the chant of the security forces. And us little people will try to escape to maybe Canada? Maybe Canada will build a wall to keep us out.

This may seem far fetched, but I'm old enough to remember when there was almost no homelessness in the USA and a family could live off of one paycheck. Now we have a minimum wage that won't even pay for food, let alone a place to live.

But if we cut taxes on the rich some more, that should fix everything.

Maybe musk will buy the state of California and kick everyone out. Problem solved.

Any more there’s quite a bit of over emphasis on politics. I lean towards liberal pretty much but live in a very conservative area of the country. Doesn’t affect my level of happiness. I don’t care for winters, though.

If you take a look, there are few places that aren't private property.....

Even here, there used to be a lot what we call "crown land" owned by the government but now there is more and more land gobbled up and access denied.....

This is very noticeable when the snowmobile trail association has been working on keeping trail access as more and more land either changes hands or crown land is purchased.

I've noticed there is more and more deforestation where developers are clearing to build in....some of these forests have been clear cut for years and not one house has been built.....kind of sad really......

Burr wasn’t making fun of anyone’s hardship. He was making fun of all the sudden wildfire experts.
Exactly......

Even though his home was spared, he too had to evacuate...all it would have taken is a wind change and his house would have been gone.
