Chris, the next event at Barber is in a few weeks, but I won't be there. Gonna be HOT in Alabama in August!! After that, I believe we will ALL be at the September event (28-29). For October, I will mist likely be there all weekend, but only riding Saturday (18). And I think Keith will be hunting in SD that weekend, so 2/3rds crew again.
Memberships are annual with STT. A couple of track weekends more than pays for itself.

Would like to do a track day with ya'all in fall possibly.

After an extended absence from the track, TEAM GIXXER will be at Barber this weekend...minus Jay (who may be the smart one, as the forecast says it's gonna be H-O-T). Have spent the last month or so doing some summer mods on the Gixxer: Accossato 19x20 Master, Vortex Clip-ons, Galfer GP Wave Rotors, Galfer pads, Galfer rear brake line; new tires (Dunlop GPA Slicks) and fresh oil. Oh, and also a new Truck and Trailer...Finally got it all buttoned back up (after a 2-week delay for a correct double banjo bolt for the MC), and am ready to rumble!!

Even thought the forecast looks BRUTALLY HOT, I'd still be there if I could!! Haven't been on the gixxer since May and am dying to get back on the horse!
Just make sure stay hydrated and to pit when you're getting tired! You're normally one to run flag to flag, every session, but that that may not be the best idea in this weekend's heat!

It's going to be about 10 degrees hotter Chris. This will match August 2010 when it was 100...I have yet to forget it...

Great weekend (but not without some speedbumps)...It was FREAKIN H-O-T. I think I set a new personal best (still doesn't beat Jay's time) of 1:39:15...I think I found something new in the museum turn to help.
The new Accossato Master Cylinder was an improvement to my Gixxer's brakes. Plenty of feel and more braking power. However, it still doesn't have anything on Charlie's 2012 Brakes with Brembo Calipers. I got to put about 4 semi-hot laps on his new bike....and it's QUICK. Noticeably quicker than my 07. Afterwards, he and I got to go out and make a few laps together - and I lined him on the front straight, even had a jump on him - but his 2012 would CLEARLY out race mine down the straight. A good set of tires and that bike is worth 1-2 seconds over mine.....I'll have some vid to share...

Had a student in tow that mis judged closing speed and ran over me on my 07 Gixxer. Ruined a new set of Dainese leathers and burned a hole through my Dainese boots. Rough day for sure...
The Gixxer needs new plastics, a right rear set, and a new frame slider. With the new helmet I figure im out 1500 to 2k.

Glad you had a good weekend! I can't wait to get back out there. it's been so long since i've been on a bike for anything other than a slow ride around town, I probably forgot how to go around a track!
1:39.15 is wicked fast, ESPECIALLY having to battle the wicked heat.. You're going to have to tow me around when we get back out there
And apparently i'm going to have to ride Charlie's '12.. Wonder if making it a quicker revving engine can really make it that much faster considering it makes the same HP as the 07/08... And remember, he's toting around MUCH less weight than you and I!!
