Jay, it's got "BMW S1000RR Power"...you can feel it surge at about 10.5K. Don't ride it....or you'll be wanting to put your bike on Craigslist the next day. It's worth at least 2 seconds laptime...
It IS a tighter fit than our generation 1000's.....
The laptime was while chasing someone - caught him but couldn't pass him. I will say I was more within my 'range', rather than 'throwing all caution to the winds" so it was an improvement. My slicks never did ONCE give me any warnings, but I kept thinking "pushing it too much may mean you laying out here on this hot asphalt in the heat" so I never 'let loose'. There were only like 10-12 bikes on the track in any given session - LOTS of open space and everybody was pretty 'polite' this time..
I have a great vid of DiSalvo passing me in turn 5 - sideways and heading at the kitty litter...somehow, when the bike stopped broadsliding, he was pointing the right direction...I had to go down to the pit and tell him how epic that was to watch...he said "yeah, sometimes I'll put myself in those 'situations' to see if I can get out of them" Gonna have to post vid of that...
We got Brett Accord GOOD; on Sunday, Tevor introducted him as, "Our lead Novice Instructor and Georgia's number one KISS Fan", and I started playing "Dr. Love" on Charlies boom box - it was halarious. Tevor gave him some (not all, so we can do it again) of the KISS Swag we got. I put two KISS ARMY stickers on his bike, and he rode them all day.
Oh, and now the Surovets brothers want some TEAM GIXXER swag
Lastly, there was the New York Italian on a newer Gixxer 750 that I could catch, but could NOT pass - He was two down (?) on the front sprocket and that sucker would SQUIRT out of the corner...I showed him my nose a couple of times, but I could tell he'd fight me for the apex and it wasn't worth it...He waved me past in one session, and I left him (I had better entrances to some of the turns and corner speed), but I was impressed at how much accelleration that 750 had.
