**The OFFICIAL TEAM GIXXER smacktalk thread**

That makes sense, I didn't really think about the torque since everyone always talks about HP. How do you guys like those bikes? Any real problems? What mods do you guys have done to them?

Our 1K's rock. Engine is practically bulletproof, can stick with a Busa (maybe not pass it, but stick w/it) till about 160 or so. We haven't had any problems with ours. 07-08's were great years and can be found at really good prices. Easy to work on/maintain. Most mods we've made are after-market exhaust, better brake pads/tires. Charlie/Jay have aftermarket brake master cylinder, but mine works fine. Not for riding all day, but on a racetrack they are a lot of fun...

Well that's really good to hear. I went to a 55 series tire in the busa and felt a difference in handling, is it the same for these or really can't tell the difference?

06/07 gsxr750 are a great track bike as well. It is a bit lighter than the 1k as the 750 is basically in a 600 frame. Great for the track and a lot of fun. All parts are interchangeable for 06/07 gsxr 600&750s so makes it easy to find parts and after market goodies. :-)

You boys ready for 2013? I just signed up for March at Barber! :cheerleader:

I am ready but not for March.... This part of Team Gixxer is looking more like April or May

Good, I need a few months so I can still give you some competition...

Yep, that Brembo helped you spank my azz :moon::laugh:

So is the Stomp Grip for the tank worth the money? Does it make a huge difference on the track?

I don't like Stomp grips one bit. They will tear your leathers up, and if you ever ride in jeans, will hurt...

Instead of Stomp grips, look at Tech Spec grips. Made of rubber. Don't tear up anything, hold fine, look great. Much better choice.

Yes there is a difference if you are using your knee to hold yourself on the bike (and you SHOULD be) over no grips at all.

I dont know why you guys are all saying "your slow" or " you get to see the back of my new helmet" . I thought you guys were all riding the same bike. Nuts to butts

Not sure what you are trying to say here, but the skill of the rider riding the bike is what makes you fast or slow...
